Iron Widow or Hollow Places!

9. Book you read that you are most likely to re-read in the next year?
Iron Widow. I was planning on listening to the audio in the past month and didn’t get to it, so it will be an early 2023 read!

A closer look at my 2022 stats

Pie charts made with Canva!

Rating stats

I had SO MANY DNFS!! Last year I only had 5, lmao. (The year before that I had 29 as well, actually!) It was pretty much split right down the middle with < 3 stars and > 3 stars before I put the DNFs in, so half of the books I read this year were 3 stars or less. Yikes. And look at how many 2 stars I had! I read sooo many mediocre books this year. The only reason I have so many 5 stars is because of my re-reads!

Genre stats

I still read a whopping amount of fantasy this year, but I’m actually really pleased with how much I branched out! Usually my sci-fi and fantasy counts for 90% of my reading. Look at how diverse my pie wedges are!! Almost 25% are non SFF, which is a lot for me. (The larger dark blue wedge is mystery/thriller and the tiny one that’s not labeled is magical realism. I have no idea why it didn’t label them.)

Format stats

Sooo many audiobooks!! Audio is the bulk of my reading now, because I listen daily at work and can get through 2-3 books a week because I listen at 1.6x-2x speed. I don’t have much time for physical reading anymore, sadly. I’m still doing really well at not accepting many review obligations so my ARCs/eARCs were fairly low. All of the paper ARCs were from YALLfest! It’s freeing not to have as many obligations and to just be able to read what I want to.

Series stats

Just like last year, I didn’t read any anthologies this year; and only two novellas. Sequels are still fairly low, too, because I suck at series >.<

Year published stats

I had a decent mix of old and new again this year!

Pages stats

Last year I was proud that more than half of the books I read were 400+ pages. Now I’m back to being a scaredy cat of big books XD

What do your reading stats look like for the year? Are there any books on my list that you agree or disagree with?
