Blog news:

If you missed it, I’m considering an ARC tour of Glass Arrow (if I can get enough people). If you’re interested, just fill out this form.

I kinda want to do something special for Kristen…perhaps have everyone who reads it write a little note about why they enjoyed the book or why Kristen is awesome (because she is). I’ll give more details in the email I send out!

What I’ve been up to this week:

Still scrambling to get everything together for Christmas. *sigh* Next year I have got to plan a little better! I waited til the last minute on gifts, so now I’m totally broke from buying so much on one paycheck. We didn’t have the money to buy a lot of decorations, so all we have decoration-wise is some stuff on our mantle and our Christmas tree. No wreaths, no outside lights, nothing else. It makes me sad :(

It’s a daily struggle to keep Holy Terror (RiverStar the 7 month old tabby kitten) out of the tree. Every morning I wake up and there’s ornaments batted all over the house, the tree skirt is rumpled up and dragged away from the tree, the lower branches are hanging off (or ripped off), and chunks of garland are all over the floor because she tears it apart -______-
And now, there are presents under the tree. She’s already stolen one of the bows – I’m really hoping she won’t tear all the wrapping paper off! I thought it was only her causing all the destruction, but the other day I caught one of the adult cats, Oreo (who happens to be the oldest…great example your setting there, buddy), tearing up the garland and trying to eat it. Oh, and yesterday morning I found some vomit (or poo? Hard to tell) with ribbon in it. Ah, the joys of living with cats…

What’s in your mailbox, loverlies? Link me up!

  1. My God Jessi, have you seen this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pj2ceEcpbgg

Cats are such jerks, but there are adorable!

I feel you about buying gifts this year. I felt all over the place and I am financially hurting this time around. I also feel like the internet wasn’t a good choice for online shopping. I know a lot of people placed orders for Christmas Guarantee Shipping and…their packages haven’t shipped yet. I would be freaking out just a bit.

And I’m totally down for letting Kristen know how awesome she is! I haven’t read Glass Arrow but I’m reading the Article 5 series and I LOVE it! :)

    • Aw, the video doesn’t work :(

Oh gosh! That would really suck. I think next year I’m going to shop online, but 3-4 months early!

You didn’t sign up for the tour, are you still interested? There’s no guarantee, but I may be able to squeeze you in somewhere.

      • Amber Elise @ Du Livre

Nooo! It was a video compilation of cats knocking over Christmas trees.

Yeah I didn’t sign up because I didn’t know if I would be working two jobs, but it looks like I’m not so more time for reading! If you can squeeze me in, I’m down, if not, no worries. :)

I’ll sign up on the google form below!

        • Okay! It would probably be later on the tour, which means the book will be releasing already. If you end up getting it before I can send the ARC and you love it, let me know! I’d love to send it to you so you can add a little note to Kristen :)

  2. Melissa @ Writer Grrl Reads

Oh cats and Christmas trees! Romeo is finally calm with the tree this year (he’s three now) but he was funny as a kitten. He never went crazy with the tree, but used to delicately take the plush teddy ornaments off the tree one at a time and then bat them around the kitchen floor :)

  3. Sounds like you got your hands full with that kitty! I was nervous about putting up a small tree with my dog. Since the move she’s been every so often destroying something. So far she’s left the tree alone. I’m not sure why, but I’ll take it!

  4. Your kitty sounds like a terrorist like mine. He pulls off ornaments and chews through the strings, he tries to climb the tree, the tree skirt is always a mess and last year he chewed open my niece’s gifts. But he also loves sleeping under the tree and looks adorable!
