Books I got this week
In the mail:
- The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey – SIGNED
- The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey – SIGNED
- The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski – SIGNED, and personalized
I ordered these from Anderson’s Bookshop after seeing the upcoming events! I’m a little bummed that they weren’t able to get my Rick Yancey books personalized, but oh well =/
From the publisher:
So, um…I DNFed Ironskin. I received Copperhead (book 2) unsolicited in the mail last year and I’m pretty sure I gave it away. I’m feeling a bit guilty that they keep sending me books in this series that I couldn’t even start >.< How do you handle that?!
Borrowed:
THANK YOU AMANDA!!!! You rock my socks!! (I loved it, by the way :D)
For review:
- Shutter by Courtney Alameda (NetGalley)
- The Walled City by Ryan Graudin (NG)

Blog news:
I forgot to share with you last week, but Ashley’s SEO chat was awesome! (If you didn’t attend, YOU MISSED OUT. Just sayin!) I learned a lot of useful things that I had NO idea I was doing wrong! Case in point, image alt tags. I have been deleting them because they annoy me…shame on me! I didn’t know what they were for, but as it turns out they’re actually important for SEO. Same with links – how many of you do the whole “Check out my blog post HERE” with the word “here” only as the link. This is incorrect!! The word you link needs to describe the actual link. After the chat, there are some things I will definitely be doing differently going forward!
For a more in depth look at this stuff, check out the wrap up of the SEO chat on Nose Graze!
What I’ve been up to this week:
Just counting down the days until I leave this awful job…
What’s in your mailbox, loverlies? Link me up!
OOOh nice! I loved Rick’s books as well! Actually went to that signing, it was fun! Of course, I have no complaints about any signing to go to! OOh Talon! I loved that one! Glad you loved it too! Hope you enjoy all your new reads–particularly the ones you haven’t read yet! ;)
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Nice! Small world haha. I wanted to go, but I couldn’t see spending all that money and taking a 6 hour trip just for him sadly enough. I’m fine with just getting his signed books! I’m so glad to hear that someone else loved Talon…it’s been getting some not-so-great reviews :(
That cover for Shutter just has me freaking out every time I see it. WAY TOO CREEPY NO THANK YOU. But yay for Talon :D I’m still trying to decide if I want to read it or not; I’ve read some quotes/excerpts that have me kind of shying away from it.
Yeah, it has a LOT of bad reviews, it makes me sad :(
I may be a bit biased here because I love Julie’s books so much lol!
I was so mad that I missed out on the Anderson’s meetup. I’m going to meet Marie Rutkoski if it kills me! Enjoy your final week at helljob! :)))
Amber Elise @Du Livre
I’m glad you loved the SEO chat! :D it was tons of fun!
I can’t wait to see what you think of The Walled City. I have that from BEA but I’m not sure about starting it…
I’ll be starting that one next I think!
YESSS WINNER’S CURSE! :D And oh my gosh I ADORED SHUTTER!!
Ooh! Good to know you can order books for events at Anderson’s and have them shipped. We are moving and it will be harder for me to get to events. I’ll probably still take advantage of a few on the weekends or during the summer, though.
Ohh where are you moving to?
Talon! I loved all her previous work and I can’t wait to see what she is going to do with Dragons :D I really enjoyed The winner’s curse. Happy reading :)
