If you guys haven’t noticed, I’ve been missing from the blogosphere for a while. First of all, I’ve missed my weekly recap posts for three weeks. I was on vacation, then I was busy with other things. Also, if you missed the last Heartbeat Weekly I posted, I was going through a bit of a blogging slump at the end of last month. I’m not saying I’m back 100%, but I will try to have some more posts around here! You can definitely still expect Life of a Blogger posts to continue every week as well as reviews every Monday and Friday. I’ll work on getting some discussion posts written, but no guarantees!

  1. Ahh you got so many great books this week! I am super jealous of Cress and all the books you got from that used bookstore. A lot of people have been reading The Forever Song and while I still haven’t gotten the chance to, it looks pretty good :) Happy reading, Jessi! <33

  2. I watched Catching Fire for the first time last night. It was amazing! I even watched all of the extras at the end on the making of the movie and that’s something I never do. I also received the Zita books and wasn’t sure if I would like them, but I read the first one and thought it was good.

  3. Ah, the books are so pretty. It’s been way too long since I’ve commented here. Can’t wait to read The Forever Song and In a Handful of Dust. Kiss of Deception looks like it’s going to be so good! I need to acquired Half Bad – I’m still hunting around for the perfect witch story.

A signed copy of Cress! Lucky!

  4. What a great batch of books — and what great bookish deals too! I just finished reading Sever, and liked it a lot. I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite of the series, but still a solid series ender. I’m totally planning to read Requiem SOON … I can’t believe that it’s still on my TBR pile! I really liked The Night Circus when I read it a couple of years ago … I wouldn’t say it was my favourite storyline, but the world building is absolutely spectacular and magical and I loved imagining the setting. I saw the sequel to Not a Drop to Drink up on Edelweiss, which totally reminded me that I need to read the first book, like ASAP! I bought it for my husband for Christmas, but he takes FOREVER to read his books … think it would be tacky if I read it first?

    • I’ve been procrastinating on Requiem for SO long! I’ve heard terrible things about it, so I’m not sure it’s even worth reading…but I still have to know for myself :)
I started to listen to Night Circus and it was intriguing, but I couldn’t handle the guy’s weird voice and his accent didn’t work for me. Not a Drop to Drink was really good, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! And nope, not tacky at all…he’s not making use of it ;)

  5. AAAAAAAAAAH I know this is an older haul but I just read the Kiss of Deception this week and it was so good! Around page 300 there is a freaking plot twist that turned the book from Good-Classic-Fantasy to HECK OF A RIDE. That’s why I loved it so much! Of course I never see plot twists coming, if they’re done right. Oh dang. FEELS Jessi.

    Enjoy all the pretties!!!!!
    XOXO, Inky
