Hey guys! If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been kind of AWOL for the past few weeks. My blog has kind of been running itself – the only things that have posted are those that I already had scheduled. I also haven’t done ANY commenting at all. Fail me. Some of you may be wondering where I’ve been! (Maybe not, maybe no one even noticed…)
First of all, vacation! Oh, man, it was freaking glorious. I spent a wonderful 9 days in Florida with my fiancé and my parents – 4 of those days on the beach – and it was warm and beautiful down there. I didn’t want to come back! And then when I did it was super cold and I’ve been feeling rather resentful to have to come back to this crappy state and deal with the same old BS day in, day out. :(
If you missed my last Heartbeat Weekly (like, 3 weeks ago…like I said, fail me), I confessed that I was struggling a bit with blogging. I guess I was in a bit of a slump, and I was feeling down about things that shouldn’t matter because that’s not why I blog in the first place. I figured I’d take a week off for vacation and come back with a fresh mind. I do have a fresh mind, now, so that’s not why I’ve been missing. For those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram, I’ve found a new hobby: Polymer clay! (Like I need something else to take up even MORE of my time…) I admit went a little crazy buying stuff for it haha. I bought a bunch of colors of clay, a set of tools, a pasta machine, and a bunch of other things for it. *coughs* I may have spent way too much money haha. So, for the last 2 weeks that’s all I’ve been doing – making things out of clay! Sadly I’ve been neglecting the blog and reading both in favor of that…but it’s sooo addicting! Now that I’ve made a bunch, I am officially opening up my Etsy shop!
You can find my shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/NovelHeartbeat
Here is a preview of what I’ll be selling:
I’m also open to taking commissions for custom orders, as long as I don’t get too overwhelmed with them! If you would like me to make you something, email me: novelheartbeat@gmail.com
A custom dragon with a simple pose/colors/minimum detail would be $25, and if it gets more complicated/detailed the price would go up accordingly. I’m not 100% sure about doing things other than dragons yet, but if you have any ideas let me know!
I also have a giveaway going on right now on Instagram (@geobob11) for this little guy:
All you have to do is follow the instructions to repost to spread the word about my shop!
Anyway, I’m sorry I kinda fell off the face of the planet there for a while. I can’t guarantee I’ll be back in full force because most days recently I just want to make things out of clay. But, I definitely miss blogging and want to come back! I’ll still have my reviews (although I’m running out of scheduled ones…) and will definitely still have Life of a Blogger. No matter what, that feature will continue! I will try my best to get out and do some commenting as well, since I’ve completely sucked at that the last few weeks. I’m afraid to even look at my email subscription folders!
Of course we noticed you were gone, but you needed a break. We all go through that at some point!
I’m so proud of you, Jessi! And I admit I’m a little jealous, too ;) But I think it’s great that you’re doing so well with the polymer clay stuff. Your dragons are so sweet!
Maybe seeing you doing all this will get me off my butt so I can play with clay, too <3
