cars

For starters, let me introduce you to the lovely Cinder:

cinderMy 2006 Pontiac G6. I love my car! I now have red & black zebra interior everything, it’s awesome!

My first car was a 1995 Chrysler LeBaron, convertible. I loved it, despite all the problems it had. Someday I will have a convertible again! There’s nothing like the feeling of driving with the top down. We jokingly named it Iron Maiden, because I once hit a deer and all it did to the car itself was crack the paint. After it broke down in the middle of a busy intersection (it was falling apart, seriously), we got a 2002 Chevy Cavalier. I liked it a lot, but nothing in the car was automatic. As in, if I was driving down a busy highway with the windows down and it started raining, I had to deal with the rain swirling inside until I could stop to manually crank the windows up (that actually happened once). The day before Thanksgiving in 2010, I wrecked it in the rain. We think it’s because my tires were nearly bald – one minute I was driving and the next I was spinning.

155122_10150343003605525_623761_nWe totaled it and got a 1999 VW Jetta, which was nice, but parts were expensive and the interior was cheaply made. It had a lot of problems too, so in 2012 we sold it for cheap to the son of my boss at the time, who is now my fiancé! That was when we bought my G6, which I am still driving. Other than the convertible (which wins be default), it’s my favorite car I’ve driven.

I used to be obsessed with cars. I still like them, I’m just not as passionate about them as I used to be. I still have a weak spot for sexy muscle, though! What’s my dream car, you ask?

eleanorEleanor herself, a ’67 Fastback. Some day, she will be mine!
You know, when I’m rich enough to afford her…

Other than Eleanor, some favorites include the Camaro, Charger, and Challenger. I like both old and new models of both. I’m also a huge fan of the ’77 Vette:
024c4largeI always wanted one!

As far as non-muscle, I’m love Dodge, Jeep, and Chevy. Before I got my G6, I was pining for a red Jeep Liberty! We decided not to because of the horrible gas mileage. I love Dodge because of the way the grille looks, and I wouldn’t mind having one some day. I think when the G6 is ready to retire I’ll look for a crossover like an RX or Equinox, or an SUV like a Durango. Or, maybe I’ll finally get a Liberty or Wrangler, who knows!

Your turn! Make your own post about cars and link up! I encourage you all to participate ;)

Ideally, I want this to become meme style with many other bloggers participating so we can learn more about as many bloggers as possible! I’m sure it will take some time, but I hope you guys will be interested in joining.

Next week’s topic: The craziest thing you’ve ever done

  1. Those are some serious cars!! :) If I had to choose really one, I’d probably pick the ’67 Impala (also known as Supernatural’s Metallicar). That’s a car I like, even though I’m not much of a car fan.

Hi everyone! I’m a new joiner, so I hope I’ll meet lots of new bloggers!

  2. I don’t have a car and I hate driving (which is perhaps the reason I still haven’t got my driver licence after 3 attempts :p), but I’m in love with the look of Jeeps & Dodges! I love bulky, big cars that make noise, haha. I think realistic that my first car would be something like Mini cooper – a dark green one with a white roof :D

  3. ooh I really love your past cars and I’m really glad after you crashed a few years ago! I really hope that you can get enough money to buy Eleanor one day, though. I’m still like a year from being able to get my learner’s permit so I haven’t even though about the car I want, but I definitely love the look of all of your cars <33

  4. Trayche

I LOVE CARS! That’s all I’m gonna say! I love your choices, and I can see that you have a great sense when It comes to cars.

  5. Oh crap. Not this. Cars (along with sports) is my weakness to stupidity. I don’t know a thing about cars and whenever someone talks about them, I always find a way to mess something up and get made fun of, lol. …Erm… They’re pretty?

I need to learn how to drive because I’m big on independance. But can I just say that I fangirled to the max over “Cinder”!!! (EEP)

    • Haha it’s okay, I feel that way about the mechanics of a car!

And she’s not technically named after the book Cinder, but it works! I wanted something that related to red (I was so not naming her Scarlet or Crimson or anything lame), so I was tossing around Ember and Cinder (for fire). Cinder just sounded better. And it’s bookish, with a red shoe on the cover. Plus there’s a dragon in Spyro named Cinder ;D

  6. I’ve developed a slightly unhealthy relationship with my car. I drive a 2006 Ford Explorer (Advanced Trac, I believe). It’s used, but the last thing it gives me is problems. About a year and a half ago I was in a car accident with my parents and we were driving this little Volkswagen Passat, and the car was completely totaled. We were T-boned at an intersection, the guy ran a red light (texting and driving). My dad decided we were to have bigger cars then, because we were hit by a Jeep and the guys in the Jeep were totally fine.

So, Ford Explorer. I love it to death. It’s a tan/gray color. I’m really not even sure what color it is. But I call it Soov, like SUV, but pronounced. My friend has a Mini Cooper and she nicknamed it Sheldon Cooper, and I thought that was hilarious. But I love love love having a bigger car. The gas mileage isn’t THAT great, but I would rather have a bigger car and feel safer than the small car we used to have.

Also, your dream car? Yum. Yes please. I love older cars. Especially the old muscle cars!

  7. Hello!
I don´t know about cars. But I think that 67 Fastback is very nice. I want one too.
I need to learn how to drive first of course.

  8. My dad’s always had Mustangs floating around – when I was a kid we had a ’69, ’71, ’87 and a ’92. The ’71 was my favourite, so you can imagine how thrilled I was when the late 2000 models started fashioning the body like the older styles.

But Eleanor. She’ll forever be #1 in my heart.

  9. I’m so clueless about cars but my 8yo is obsessed with them (we have to stop when he sees a sports car to take his photo) and my sister just bough the dodge nitro – its massive! & that’s the only car I recognize from your post.

Your accident sounds scary!! Fingers crossed you’ll one day own Eleanor.

  10. Haha I fluctuated. My choices went from:
    – Volkswagen Beetle Convertible
    – If I remember correctly I wanted a Ford Tonka.. I think it was Ford :s
    – Mustang
    – I thought the Nissan Cube was kinda cute.
I still haven’t decided what I really want, but all in due time I’ll find the car “of my dreams” ;)
    Krys
