Weekly Recap
Posts on the blog:
What I’ve been up to this week:
This past week was downright AWFUL. Someone who used to be a really close friend – who I had a falling out with a few months ago – was found dead Thursday morning. She tried to reach out to me a few weeks ago, and I didn’t know how to respond so I brushed it off. She reached out to me and I wasn’t there, and now I’ll never have the chance to be. She was only 24. It hit me pretty hard.
I’ve got some financial stress at work with a couple clients bouncing checks, and I’m the one who has to pay for that since they were my clients. So I’m losing quite a bit of money there. I also got a delinquent letter in the mail saying I never paid my city taxes last year, even though I filed with H&R Block and it was supposedly paid. Then, on top of all that, my ex is starting his shit again, harassing me on social media, which always really stresses me out. (When it rains it pours, eh?)
Another reason I’ve been missing from Instagram and the blog because I’ve been in a massive everything slump for days and days on end. I’ve had zero motivation or inspiration for posts or photography, and when I do take photos I’m unhappy with all of them. It leaves me feeling very upset and inadequate and I don’t know how to shake it. My blog also hasn’t been loading hardly at all, so when I actually do want to blog I can’t (this post took me literally all day to do because it keeps losing connection). It’s very frustrating and discouraging. I can’t seem to get into any books, either…I keep picking things up and putting them down. I had 4 or 5 different books I picked up and couldn’t get into in July. Taking a short break helped a little, and I’m hoping I can come back with a fresh outlook! I think I’m just going to take it easy for a while, so I might not be as active (mainly Instagram, since I’m not really super active on here most of the time anyway).
I rearranged my bookshelves
I had a wild hair a couple weeks ago to rearrange my bookshelves. I was getting a bit bored with them the way they were, and after seeing all those beautiful rainbow themed shelves, I decided I wanted to try it!
Progress photos
Rearranging was was SUCH A PAIN. Seriously guys, it took me almost an entire week to finish it. (Mostly because I kept procrastinating…) My back was killing me by the time I was done! It was hard work, and very tedious. I had to sort all my books – keep in mind I have about 900 of them – into color piles, and there were so many giant piles and then I had to arrange them by shade in each color pile and it was just SO overwhelming.
The bottom left hand photo shows all of the signed books I own! I’m pretty proud of them :)
Progress level: Procrastination
Finally done
The final verdict? HORRIBLE. DECISION. I mean, it’s pretty. It is. But I don’t have as many colored spines as I’d hoped – most are black – so the rainbow isn’t that impressive comparable to how many books I actually have. Furthermore, I CAN’T FIND ANYTHING. I’ve gone to look for a book a couple of times and it takes forever to find anything unless I happen to remember what color the spine was. It’s horrible. My OCD over them not being in alphabetical order is driving me nuts. Also, the worst part is I had to split up series. Yes. Cringe. I’d say it won’t last long, but it probably will simply because I don’t want to have to deal with rearranging them again anytime soon. It will probably stay this way until I’m ready to upgrade to Billy shelves because I’m too lazy XD
