Last week’s topic: Bucket List

petpeeves

Topic suggested by Kelly @ Effortlessly Reading

I have many minor annoyances on a daily basis (most at work, ha). Having a short temper probably doesn’t help!

  • Slow people. This is one of my biggest gripes on a daily basis. I am a very fast paced person in all aspects of my life. I’m may be on the lazy side and I procrastinate, but I am NOT a slow mover. I am a fast walker, a fast driver, and a fast worker. Being held up drives me CRAZY!! I can’t stand it when someone slow won’t get out of my way. Especially in the car (we’ll get to that in a minute). And slow moving people at work…don’t even get me started on that! There’s nothing worse than doing 75% of the work because the other person is moving slower than molasses.
  • Girls wearing leggings as pants. It doesn’t seem like a big deal to some people, but seriously this disgusts me. They are NOT pants, ladies! Cover your ass!! Nobody needs to see your lady parts! (Clarification: I am perfectly fine with them used underneath something, like a long shirt, tunic, or even a skirt. As long as your ass is covered!)
  • When people chew with their mouth open. I hate when I’m trying to eat and someone is making vomit-inducing smacking noises with their mouth. Ew. I’d like to keep my last meal in my belly, thanks.
  • When people tell me I have an “attitude” because I’m straightforward. It’s not my fault you can’t handle the truth. Just sayin…
  • People who get a dog and don’t do anything to train it. This is a personal pet peeve as I work at a vet. There is nothing worse than a 90 lb rott that has zero manners on a leash and literally drags you out the door! Teach your dog how to walk on a leash! And it’s appalling how many dogs we get that don’t even know how to sit. Seriously?!
  • Feet/hands rubbing on carpet. I know it’s weird, but this is like nails on a chalkboard to me! It makes me cringe and actually makes me want to gag (just thinking about it makes my skin crawl). I can’t stand the feel of carpet either!`1

driving

Because there’s so many things that piss me off on the road that I need a separate list just for driving. I’m having trouble coming up with things right now, but I’m sure I’ll think of more after I post.

  • Slow drivers. Like I said above, I HATE being held up. I consistently drive 5-10 MPH over the speed limit, so being stuck behind someone going 5 under or more makes me absolutely bonkers.
  • People who drive slow and then get pissed and try to race you when you pass them.
  • People who brake check you for being too close when they’re driving 10+ miles under the speed limit.
  • People who drive slow in the FAST lane. It’s called the fast lane for a reason. Just move over. Even worse is when you flash your lights at them for driving 5 under in the fast lane and they slam on their brakes and proceed to start yelling and screaming at you. Do you not understand the concept of a fast lane? It’s really not that difficult!
  • When people drive terrible and then act like it’s your fault. There’s nothing more annoying than honking at someone for almost hitting you and then having them freak out, honk back and make obscene gestures, and almost cause another accident. How dare you honk at them for being an idiot! At least when I do stupid things on the road I have the decency to send an apologetic wave and mouth “sorry” to the person honking at me, instead of flipping them off.
  • When people use a TURN lane for merging. What if someone wants to use that lane to, you know, turn?
  • Yo-yo driving. What am I talking about? When you’re driving on the highway and someone next to you keeps speeding up and slowing down. If you can’t keep your foot steady on the pedal, use the damn cruise control!

What pisses you off? Make your own post telling everyone about your pet peeves and link up :)

  1. adfajdka;lsdfa the rubbing of the carpet. It just gives me shivers thinking about it. I also have this with specific kinds of fabrics. Usually the rain jackets. I get really annoyed by this.

I must admit that I wear leggings often. But then I usually wear a dress or a longer shirt. White leggings are the most annoying thing though. You see EVERYTHING that I don’t want to see.

  2. I must admit that I wear leggings as pants, but they are from thick material and I always wear something long over it to cover my butt. Guys with leggings is a complete NO for me. And I think everyone should wear what they want, but if you have a somewhat bigger behind, you should not wear leggings – and definitely not with short tops.. They are not flattering. & I agree with Sandra, white is not a good legging color.

Slow people are annoying! Especially when I’m in a hurry and I’m stuck behind people who doesn’t seem to move.

  3. Yo-yo driving is the worst! I hate it. Also, people who are turning right but then veer slightly into the lane on their left a little before turning. Ugh. And just people who are terrible drivers but then blame you. I definitely hate all of that. And I can’t believe I forgot girls who wear leggings as pants! THEY AREN’T PANTS!!! Why isn’t someone telling them that leggings aren’t pants and the rest of us can see EVERYTHING? Ugh. Even people who can technically pull it off still look stupid because they’re not wearing real pants. Especially when they wear fancy tops with them, I just don’t get that look.
Thanks for the topic this week! It was fun to vent! Lol

  4. Just reading those driving pet peeves is bringing on the road rage….

    I’d include:
People who don’t stay in their designated lane when turning
People who don’t even pause at a stop sign
People who blindly pull out of driveway and small streets
People who don’t turn off their high beams or have those super bright blue headlights

The list could go on and on.

  5. So many people piss me off when I am driving. I have such road rage! Just today I was fuming because I was stuck behind someone who took 10 minutes to back out of a parking spot!

  6. Um, yes to all the driving things. When I go to work, I get off the highway and the exit turns into a right-hand turn lane. Well EVERYBODY ELSE wants to use that to merge into the left lane and I actually need to turn right to go into the work entrance. I usually honk and throw them the finger. THERE ARE ARROWS YOU DON’T EVEN NEED TO KNOW ENGLISH!!!!!!!!

This is, like, the story of my life every day.

  7. I actually wear leggings as pants literally EVERY day and not with a long shirt a lot of the times either and a lot of my friends do the same! But I usually don’t wear them to be all like “Look at my ass it looks so good today” I mainly wear them because they’re super comfortable and also a lot easier for after school when I have lacrosse so I don’t even need to change I just jump right into my T-shirt and go. I don’t even have a problem with when girls wear them because it’s their decision and if they wanna wear leggings I say rock the leggings! :)

And obviously I don’t drive so I can’t relate with a lot of the things you said, but just from your description is sounds annoying because just from being in a car with my mom I know that slower people drive in the outside lane and faster people drive in the inside lane and you just don’t mess with that system.

  8. Open-mouthed chewing is the absolute worst! I think one thing that’s just as bad is when people have the courtesy to chew with their mouth closed, but you can still hear them. So gross…

And I agree so much with all the driving pet peeves – and I don’t even drive! I can’t imagine how much more frustrating it would be for the one who’s actually driving.

  9. I cannot agree more on the dog issue. My parents have 2 dogs and they do nothing to train them properly. They are always jumping on people, especially my daughter, and just flat out annoying. I love dogs, just not theirs.

  10. People tell me I have road road. I tell them no, I just have a low tolerance for idiots. I’d also add those that ride your bumper, especially with their high beams on, and those that ride beside you in the fast lane, especially when you want to pass someone yourself.
