4 Stars

In this conclusion to the Wildefire trilogy, teen volcano goddess Ashline Wilde learns her former love, Colt Halliday, has an evil plan to kill the Cloak, benevolent beings who oversee the gods. Also, he wants to merge Ash and her two sisters back into a single, too-powerful goddess, Pele. Ash must stop her trickster-god ex-boyfriend once and for all, by feeding a few flames.

My thoughts

I had some trouble connecting to this one. I still really enjoyed it, but for the most part I didn’t love it like I did the first two books. I didn’t feel much throughout the novel except a bit of shock…until the end came. I saw the sacrifice coming, but it still affected me. I was surprised by the sadness I felt!

Ash was still the same fierce, fiesty MC that I loved from the previous two books. She stayed strong no matter what and kept her head held high. I loved the flashbacks and Pele’s story! It was cool to finally get snippets of her past, and I thought it was brilliant how they were sprinkled throughout the story.

Even though I kind of hated Eve previously, I must say that I warmed to her. She didn’t seem so bad anymore, and actually surprised me in the end. I definitely didn’t expect that!

I absolutely LOVED the ending! It was perfect!! What a brilliant and satisfying end to a trilogy!

  1. I haven’t started this series, but I’m glad that the last book packed a punch! I definitely know what you mean when you don’t particularly like a character for the longest time but then slowly warm up to them. Also, I’m sorry this wasn’t as amazing as the first two books but still surprised you with the ending :) Fantastic review, Jessi! <33

  2. I’ve been wanting to try these books since I know you like them!! And the covers are just SO GORGEOUS too!! Eep! I’m glad this was a good series end, even if it wasn’t the best. That just happened to me with Evertrue. Those are the hardest books to write reviews for because it’s that fine line between dislike and book love you know?

    Anyway, great review Jessi!
