From the signing:

All books are signed!

MY SHATTER ME SERIES IS COMPLETE. Finally! It was driving me bonkers to keep the series separated, I’m so glad I finally got the last two signed! I got Ignite Me personalized since you could only personalize one book (I kinda cheated, because they were saying “new books only to be personalized” but I didn’t want my name in Furthermore so I just kinda snuck Ignite Me in there haha). I had Unravel Me with me, and I was kinda hoping to get my name in it (it’s already signed), but I knew I was pushing my luck already by personalizing the wrong book (and having them sign my tote on top of the 5 books I had, which was the limit) so I didn’t bother.

I’m going to be totally honest, the only reason I even bought Miss Peregrine’s is because it’s going to be a movie and may get super popular and I might be able to sell it one day XD (I DNFed this book…I didn’t like it at ALL in the first 100 pages and have zero interest in reading any more of the series)

Bought:

  • Nevernight bookmark from SkinnyHues
  • Magnets from BiblioKnacks: Buruu & Yukiko (Stormdancer), Chessie, Mr. Kindly (Nevernight), Illuminae & Gemina, US & UK Nevernight

Both orders are SO beautiful! I’m so happy with them! I LOVE THE BURUU MAGNET SO MUCH I CAN’T EVEN.

From the publisher:

Thank you so much to Tor and Big Honcho Media for sending me these lovely books to promote on Instagram! <3

There will be a giveaway for a SIGNED, PERSONALIZED copy of Metaltown coming up on my Instagram, so stay tuned!

For review:

In the mail:

Phone cases are currently on sale for $5 off + free shipping!

OTP Tour Recap

For those of you who saw me mention my Joseph Beth membership in my YA Beach Bash Recap a couple of weeks ago, that shit is STILL paying off! Greatest $25 I ever spent. (Thanks, Aaron!) I called to pre-order Furthermore, and not only did I save $6 off list price, I got a freakin’ VIP line ticket! Whoop! WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Aaron came with me this time around. It was packed, of course (which I knew it would be). I wasn’t as excited about this event as I usually am, because of the way I view Tahereh and Ransom. I really don’t want to get into it here – sharing unpopular opinions is something I try to stay clear of. And it is just that – my opinion. I don’t want to say anything bad about anyone, and honestly they’re really nice people. They just have kind of a rockstar complex, if you know what I mean. That’s all I’m going to say.

Excuse the crappy quality. I was pissed that I forgot my DSLR!

The event was set to start at 6, but by the time they actually came out they were 15-20 late. Tahereh and Ransom were pretty adorable together. It was plain to see how much they doted on each other! (Actually, if I were single it probably would have been sickening heh…) But honestly, that’s kind of what the panel consisted of – them doting on each other. With such a large crowd, it was a standing event (I hate those. Give me a small event with chairs any day thank you very much). As in, we were all standing. For the full 45 minute panel. Ok, so standing for 45 minutes isn’t really a big deal (shit, I stood for HOURS at YALLfest). But, I had worked a full day as it was, so I was already tired. It also didn’t help that I was bored. Like I said, I don’t want to say anything bad about them, because they’re nice people, but it was probably one of the most boring panels I’ve ever attended. I mean, the crowd did giggle a few times at Ransom’s jokes (he can be funny when he wants to be), but seriously almost the whole panel was “You should read her books, they’re so awesome. Did I mention how awesome her books are?” and “You should read his books, they’re so awesome. Did I mention how awesome his books are?” back and forth and back and forth. Sigh. Also, strangely enough, there was not an open floor for discussions/Q&A. There were a few questions answered that were pre-submitted (like 4 or 5 maybe?), but it wasn’t engaging with the crowd like all of the other panels I’ve ever attended were. Shit, even at the Marissa Meyer and Maggie Stiefvater events (which were HUGE, even bigger than this one was) they took questions straight from the crowd and actually engaged with their fans. (*cough* Rockstar complex)

Anyway, the awesome thing was that with the VIP ticket I was only in line for ten minutes. TEN. MINUTES. We were home before 9 (and we even stopped at his parents on the way home)! I’m so used to getting home super late from large events that I didn’t know what to do with myself. That membership is fabulous!! I got to be in the very first group, so there were maybe a dozen people ahead of me and they were pushing them along pretty fast the line was moving pretty fast. In, out, done. Easy peasy!!

The bookstore’s employees kept repeating over and over that the book limit was 5 books total (BOTH authors), and they were ONLY personalizing the two newest books (one from each author). One person even asked for a sticky for a different book and the guy said they were only doing the new ones. Well, I – being the prepared girl scout I am (SHUT UP I WAS LITTLE OKAY) – already had my name on a note, stuffed into Ignite Me. I was strangely nervous going up there because I was bending the rules that they kept repeating over and over. I FELT LIKE A CRIMINAL. Which is totally stupid, like if you’re going to personalize one anyway and I don’t want the new one personalized, WHY THE HELL DOES IT MATTER WHICH BOOK GETS PERSONALIZED. *breathes heavily* So I felt guilty but kinda not because who cares. And you know what? SHE PERSONALIZED IT ANYWAY. And I also cheated and added my tote bag to get signed even though I already had my “limit” of 5 books for the two of them. Oops.

I didn’t even bother to get a photo with either of them…
