  1. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken. This is the ONE book that I would have sold my firstborn for. I am absolutely dying to read it!! I’ve been doing anything I can to get my hands on a copy (begging shamelessly), and was never able to. Now that it’s out it’s killing me! I pre-ordered a signed copy so now I have to wait for it to arrive T.T
  2. The Shadow Hour by Melissa Grey. The Girl at Midnight was one of my favorite books of 2015, and one of my favorite books ever! I can’t wait to dive back into the world!
  3. Soldier by Julie Kagawa. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a huge Julie Kagawa fangirl. I love the Talon series and can’t wait for the third installment!
  4. Nevernight by Jay Kristoff. Jay Kristoff is one of my favorite authors ever – the Lotus Wars series is my favorite series EVER and I loved Illuminae too. I’m dying to get my hands on more of his epicness!
  5. Gemina by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman. Illuminae was EPIC! I neeeeed the sequel!
  6. Firstlife by Gena Showalter. So far I’ve loved everything that I’ve read by Gena, and that cover is stunning!
  7. The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine. THAT COVER. It’s so beautiful!
  8. Starflight by Melissa Landers. Another stunning cover! I enjoyed Alienated and Invaded and I’m sure I’ll love this one too!
  9. A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir. An Ember in the Ashes was one of my faves in 2015!
  10. Titans by Victoria Scott. Um, mechanical horses? Sounds awesome to me.
  11. Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi. I absolutely loooved Unravel Me and Ignite Me. Her writing vastly improved between books 1 and 2 and totally blew me away after that. Can’t wait for more from her!
  12. This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab. Again – that cover!! I can’t stop staring at it! So far I haven’t read anything by Victoria Schwab that I didn’t like.
  13. A Gathering of Shadows by Victoria Schwab. A Darker Shade of Magic was awesome!
  14. The Hunt by Megan Shepherd. I really enjoyed The Cage, it was a unique and refreshing read!
  15. Ruined by Amy Tintera. Yet another gorgeous cover – I’m a sucker for them! I also love high fantasy!
  16. The King Slayer by Virginia Boecker. Look at that cover!!! While it wasn’t a favorite necessarily, I really enjoyed Witch Hunter and am interested to see where the story goes.

Honorable mention

reign of shadows riders

These two make honorable mention because I’ve already read them. I’m no longer anticipating them, but I desperately was before I read them! I feel the need to mention them here because they were both AMAZING. Each were very unique and refreshing reads, and I loved them both so much! Definitely recommend!

  1. Hey, I recognized one of those books! That’s good for me, usually I don’t recognize any. I’m just not plugged in to the right places to get news of new books, I guess.

  2. You have a fantastic list, including several I hadn’t yet seen.
I remember reading The Girl at Midnight, but I hardly remember a thing about it! I’ll have to try and reread it first before moving to the sequel

  3. Out of all the books on your list, I’m only looking forward to finally getting myself to the store to buy a copy of Passenger. I’m currently waiting to see if I win any of the giveaways I’m in for it, but if not, I’m buying it ASAP.

  4. I’m really hoping I like The Shadow Queen. I haven’t heard the greatest things about it so far but I’m still holding out that I’ll like it. That cover is just too pretty to deny. I have An Ember in the Ashes but haven’t read it yet. Oops. I do want to read it sometime soon though because everyone says it’s so good and the title to the sequel is amazing.

  5. Sooooooo I read Passenger and didn’t love it. *hides* I really enjoyed Firstlige and Starflight! The Shadow Queen was okay. I got an ARC of Furthermore and This Savage Song at ALAMW and am super excited to read them both! *cries* I am still sad that you didn’t love TOQ…:(

    • Oh noes! I liked it a lot, but it didn’t wow me like I thought it would sadly (I freaking LOVED The Darkest Minds trilogy). I can’t wait for Firstlife!! I enjoyed Starflight a lot too, but I was disappointed with Shadow Queen. I loved the concept, but it wasn’t nearly as good as her Defiance series :(
We should totally buddy read This Savage Song :D :D
