Last week’s topic: 101 Things I Hate

silbings

Topic suggested by Kelly @ Effortlessly Reading

So here’s the thing: I’m kind of an only child, but I have siblings too. Why? I’m my mom’s only child, and I grew up as an only child, but I have 5 older half siblings on my dad’s side – 3 brothers and 2 sisters. (I think that’s right?? My dad has a step son or two as well so I kinda forget lol!) Us Larie kids are loud, obnoxious, and a little bit crass haha. Both of my brothers are goofy just like my daddy!

Alright, so here are the three I actually see:

I have cropped myself out because it was a horrible, horrible picture. :p

My sister Karen (left): She’s the sibling I see the most. I’ve gone out with her and her friends several times (think: A bunch of 40’s something women drinking and bullshitting), it’s awesome! I’m the closest with her, and I see her the most out of all of my siblings.

My brother J.D. (center): I see him about 3-4 times a year, usually only at reunions and holidays.

My brother Mike (right): He’s the brother I’m the closest to, and I see him more than the other brothers, but not quite as much as Karen.

There is another sister, Rebecca, and another brother, Robert Jr, that aren’t pictured because I have no pictures of them and I’ve only seen them maybe twice in my entire life. They were never close in the family and were kind of both black sheep…

Your turn! Make your own post telling everyone about your siblings and link up :)

  1. Wow, there’s a lot of siblings! :) I only have two, but I understand you and your sister. I’m closest to my brother. I don’t know if it’s the age gap (two and half with my brother, and 8 with my sister), but he’s the one I miss the most.

  2. Its cool that you still have he sibling experience as an adult, even though you were raised an only child. And lots of siblings too! Are you younger, older, or right in the middle? I have a younger brother and we’re very close – I love that I’m the oldest. Lol

  3. I’m like you. I grew up saying I was the “youngest and the only”. The way it was for me, the woman who birthed me was married and had two kids, my dad was married and had two kids. They both got divorced, got together and had me. Can’t join in as I don’t have any contact with any of them, and haven’t for years.

  4. I am an only child…with very little children in my family too. I only have one cousin on my mom’s side, which is the side I saw the most often, but he is 8 years older than me. There were some cousins my age on my dad’s side, but they didn’t live close so I didn’t visit them very often. I have to steal all of my husband’s siblings instead.

  5. It’s great that you are close with some of your siblings. Like you, I’m one parent’s only child and younger that my older half-siblings. But I only have two and we’re fairly close.
