I’m baaaaack!!!!

HELLO LOVERLIES!!

Did you miss me? I hope so, cuz I sure missed you!! I know I said 1-2 weeks, but it took a bit longer than I thought to get myself together. And I’m still not entirely sure I have it, lmao. But here I am! And I’m going to try my best to keep up now. I had a bit of a disaster with my iPhone deleting all my book notes, so I’m 2 reviews short for lack of things to say (I depend way too much on those notes). BUT I should be able to get back to my normal schedule of two reviews a week. That being said, I don’t want to push myself to post daily and feel over pressured, so I will post as much as I can only without stressing myself out. That may mean there will be less content for a while. Bear with me!

So, what have I been doing the past 3 weeks? Work, work, work my booty off! I had two 52-hour weeks in a row, but now my schedule has leveled out some so I’ll have more time for me. I did, however, get to do this during my 3 week break:

ZIPLINING!!! I took a trip to West Virginia with my sister & some of her friends, and we stayed in a cabin for 2 nights. Ziplining was SUCH a rush and was just what my adrenaline junkie self needed! The best part was the AdrenaLine (bottom picture): 3100 feet long, 55-60 mph! It was awesome! That’s me losing the race to my sister, by the way ;)

Something else I feel the need to mention: I went to the late showing of Pacific Rim last night and it was AMAZEBALLS.

pacificrimIt was one of my most anticipated 2013 movies (to the point that when I found out it was playing I literally could not wait one more day…and went to work at 6 am on 3 hours of sleep to see this darn movie), and by golly it did not disappoint! Seriously, it’s been a loooong time since I enjoyed a movie that much. I can’t remember the last time I was so blown away by a movie. It rocked my socks off! I was totally engaged in it, and even now that it’s been 24 hours, I still can’t stop thinking about it! I seriously want to go see it again, it was THAT freaking awesome. Guillermo del Toro is a genius!! Pacific Rim is now one of my favorite movies, and it is by far the best movie I’ve seen in 2013. Plus, it has elements of mecha from anime (Escaflowne, anyone?!) which had me totally geeking out when I saw the trailer. Here’s a video that I find absolutely fascinating, where del Toro talks about what influenced him:

If you love sci-fi, I highly suggest you go see it! And spend the extra $5 to see it in 3D…you won’t be disappointed, I promise.

And in bookish news, I GET TO MEET JULIE KAGAWA!!! I’m so lucky to have a flexible work schedule so that I can take the time off on such late notice to drive down to Memphis for her signing. AND I get to meet the lovely Shannon from Twilight Sleep! I’m very excited for this event; Julie is one of my favorite authors, plus I’ve never had the privilege to meet another blogger in real life yet – and Shannon is awesome! I’m SUPER stoked for Tuesday and can’t wait to share the experience with you guys!!

That’s so awesome!! I’ll probably be at the one in Nashville on monday. I’m super excited as well. I can’t believe I’ll be meeting one of my all-time favorite authors!!!

Yeah, it would be about an 8 hour drive to Memphis; it’s roughly 4 to Nashville. I live on the other end of TN so I’m lucky I even get to go to the one in Nashville! I really can’t wait :)

        • I live in Ohio lol >.< Google Maps said Memphis is 8 hours for me, it would have been about 5 to Nashville. But Shannon from Twilight Sleep will be in Memphis too, and I would have had problems with my work schedule to go on Monday. The road trip is exciting to me, too!

Oh wow, that is a long drive! haha I’m a stay at home mom right now so I don’t really have to worry about a work schedule, and I don’t plan on staying for the night. I haven’t ever been to Memphis though so hopefully one day I’ll get the chance to go.
