Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish Hmm, there seems to be a theme XD Row 1 – Sci-fi (aka ominous-sounding 1 word titles) Corruption by Jessica Shirvington – I loved Disruption hardcore, I can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel! Revenger by Alastair Reynolds – Space. Opera. WITH PIRATES AND BURIED TREASURE. *hums Treasure Planet music* Hellworld by Tom Leveen – You had me at “what they stumble across in that […]
Yay, another week where Top Ten Tuesday coincides with a topic I had chosen for Horror October! Today I’ve chosen my top ten favorite creepy book covers! Sadly I didn’t like the ones that I actually read (Fiendish, Miss Peregrine’s Home, Shutter) but THE COVERS DUDE. I sure do love me a creepy book cover! What’s your favorite creepy cover?
Top 10 General Horror Silent Hill. This movie has always been (and will always be) my favorite horror movie ever. I love how twisted and creepy it is! I’ve seen it a zillion times and it never gets old. The second movie, however…DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED. Oculus. HOLY. CRAP. GUYS. I can’t even BEGIN to tell you how freaktastic this movie is! The first time I ever saw it it made me feel like I was losing my mind. […]
*rubs hands together* I just so happen to have a note saved in my phone where I keep a running list of all the pet names I love, and there’s a ton of bookish names on there! Grimalkin from The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. This is on the very top of my list, and I’ve been on the lookout for a long-haired gray male kitten ;) Buruu from The Lotus Wars trilogy by Jay Kristoff. MY FAVORITE CHARACTER […]
As I was looking for books I wanted to read for Horror October, I realized something: There’s not very many YA horror books. I’m not talking “horror” stories that are about cute ghosts or are all romancey and shit. I’m talking REAL. HORROR. Gory, homicidal, disturbing, you’re-going-to-die, HORROR. There are only two books I’ve ever read that were labeled as horror that I actually consider to be real horror: The Monstrumologist and Lockdown. Both were totally dark and twisted, and […]
I am a very reluctant watcher of this show. I tried it for the first time right after finishing Dexter (TO WHICH NOTHING COULD EVER COMPARE), and I didn’t like it at all. [side note, totally unrelated: I also tried the other show that Michael C. Hall plays in right around this same time – Six Feet Under – AND I JUST COULDN’T DO IT MAN. He is and always will be Dexter and to see him as anything else now […]
