The point system:

  • 1 point for each prequel or sequel novella read and reviewed
  • 2 points for each full-length sequel read and reviewed
  • 10 points for completing and reviewing a full series (at least 3 books in series)
10-25 points: Newbie
25-50 points: Amateur
51-75 points: Advanced
76-100 points: Professional
101+ points: Veteran

My goal: Veteran (150 points) – COMPLETED

Last year my goal was 100 points and I completely blew that goal out of the water! So, this year I’m going to aim a little higher. There are a ton of trilogies I’ve started that I only have one book left to go that I would like to knock off my list! I have my series overview page and prequel-sequel-challenge shelf on Goodreads for a guide :)

  1. Jade @ Bedtime Bookworm

I just checked out your series overview page and I LOVE it! What a great way to stay organized! I might have to do something similar. Can you tell me how you use the Goodreads shelf for a challenge? I’m guessing those are the books you plan to read, then afterwards do you move them off the shelf or do they stay?

    • Thanks! :D You totally should! And yep, I use it to list all of the books I want to read that qualify for the challenge so I can easily pick things out. Then as soon as I mark it as ‘read’ I take it off those shelves!

  2. This sounds like a really fun challenge. I prefer reading standalone books, unless the series really sticks out to me. It may be because I enjoy contemporaries more than any other genre, and they’re usually standalone. I don’t want to start off the year with any challenges to work towards, yet, or I would join! Good luck! :)

    • Thank you! I prefer standalones, too. That’s why I wanted to participate in a series challenge, because I seriously suck at it >.< I tend to read the first book and never go any farther. Something like 90% of the series I've finished are only trilogies! It's sad, really...
