1. Talon by Julie Kagawa
It’s no secret that I adore Julie. And a series about DRAGONS? How much more epic could it get?!
2. Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor
I freaking love the world in Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and the sequel was amazing. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
3. Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
I was blown away by Unravel Me (I wasn’t a huge fan of Shatter Me) and I am dying for more Warner!
4. The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Guys, I am DYING for this book. It kills me every time I see someone else post a picture of the lovely ARC package on Instagram! I think this book is going to be THE debut of 2014!
5. Half Bad by Sally Green
1) I love the cover, and 2) it sounds delightfully dark!
6. After the End by Amy Plum
I may be getting my hopes up too high on this one, because I hated Die for Me, but I am madly in love with this cover and dystopian is my favorite genre. I guess we’ll find out!
7. The Taking by Kimberly Derting
I love well done alien novels – the ones that aren’t green people but creepy intelligent beings. I adore this cover, it’s totally creepy! I have high hopes for this one, I hope it’s as good as The Fifth Wave!
8. Fiendish by Brenna Yovanoff
I’ve been wanting to read something by Brenna for a while now, and when I saw this cover, I had instant cover-lust and I knew I had to read it! I seriously freaking LOVE this cover to pieces, I could sit and stare at it for hours! Plus I love me some twisted and creepy stories! It’s going to be a real shame if this one disappoints…
9. Evertrue by Brodi Ashton
The ending of Everbound was killer and I can’t wait to see what happens next! Maybe Cole will redeem himself…
10. Promise of Shadows by Justina Ireland
I think the interest here is solely based on massive cover lust. But I do love mythology! I’ve been seeing some not-so-great reviews come trickling in, so my excitement for this one is waning. I hope it doesn’t disappoint!

  1. YES totally agree about Evertrue, The Winner’s Curse, and Talon! I haven’t read a single book about dragons, but I know that Julie’s will be amazing. I also have heard nothing but fantastic things about The Winner’s Curse, so I am soo ready and excited. I also loved The Shadow Society, so I’m hoping that Marie’s next book will be just as good :)

    Fantastic list, Jessi! <33

    • Pshh Julie could probably write a book about mathematics and make it exciting!
Same here! The hype kind of worries me, though…I’m afraid my hopes may be TOO high =/
I didn’t even know that was by the same person! I still haven’t read that one. *sigh*

  2. So I’m reading Evertrue….(PRAISE HARPER BOOK GODS)..and Cole…HOW. IS. ANYONE. TEAM COLE. It baffles me.

Oooh Talon looks good!! I might finally have to read a Kagawa book now… Still need to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone…..I’ll get it sometime……

    …..story of my life..

    • RIGHT?! I mean Firelight was meh and I haven’t read Seraphina or the Mari Mancusi book (can’t remember the name)…I’m pretty sure the only other book I read with dragons in it was Wings of Arian? I think O_O

  3. Oh wow, Fiendish does have an INCREDIBLE cover. Love it. I can’t wait for The Taking – that one made my list too. You may be right about The Winner’s Curse. I wish I had it – it makes me want it more every time I see someone post an ARC pic too! Haha.

  4. After the End and The Taking are on my secondary list (in my head.. lol). They both sound amazing!!! I had no idea about Half Bad, but I just added it… I love witches and there aren’t enough books about them; although 2014 seems like the year to change that.

Holy. Smokes. Fiendish has the best cover I have ever seen I think!! I can’t stop staring at it… I think it might just have already won the award for next year, lol.

I love your list… Promise of Shadows and The Murder Complex are another two that I can’t wait for. Now I’m off to look up Talker 25 too!!

I hope you enjoy them all when you get your hands on them Jessi :) Happy New Year!!!

  5. Trayche

HOW COME I DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT JULIE’S UPCOMING NEW BOOK??? Can’t wait to read that one!!! And Ignite Me will be awesome, i just know it!

  6. Oh, I loved Replacement, so I’m definitely looking forward to Fiendish :)”love me some twisted and creepy stories” YES!! And yes, the cover is freakin’ amazing. :D The Murder Complex sounds quite interesting, too :)
