I’m never good at introductions! But I’ve been blogging for over a year (well, barely!), I honestly feel as if I have the best friends ever, I’m a little crazy, and I laugh…a lot! Not willing to tell my age or give a pic, but I live in the Lone Star state where I freeze in the winter and roast in the summer. Great life!
How long have you been blogging? What made you want to start a book blog?
Like I said, I’ve been blogging for over a year. My blogoversary was in late November, so I haven’t even been blogging a month over a year! And quite honestly, boredom. I was just bored one night (I think it was near Thanksgiving…) and was looking through blogs and thought “Why can’t I do that?” and, well…here I am!
What do you do when you’re not blogging or reading?
Hmmm hard question. Usually laughing with my friends, I’m a sucker for gossip (not mean stuff! I don’t say anything unless I have permission and I don’t ask for anything unless a person wants to tell me and has permission.), scheduling events with friends, chatting with my bloggy friends, watching movies on Netflix. Typical teen stuff!
What is your favorite part about blogging? Least favorite?
My favorite is, without a doubt, the people I meet! I’ve made amazing friends through blogging and I wouldn’t trade that for the world! The least favorite is probably how little time I have nowadays! I don’t really get to read the books I want because of review books either.
Where did you come up with the name for your blog?
Ha! I honestly have no idea! I was just looking for something that showed it was about books, and was hoping that it sounded good. I actually forgot…but I do know that if I could remake my blog name (and URL!) I’d so want to call it YA Know Books! It sounds…interesting.
Do you have any specific book bloggers that inspire you?
What do you look for in a blog when following? What are your pet peeves?
Good writing, first of all. I honestly hate choppy sentences in reviews, although I could sometimes be could a hypocrite for that. I always look for steady reviewing too, at least 2 reviews a week, or SOMETHING. Also, I hate it when a blogger is always insulting the author just because they didn’t like the book. It’s just…mean. Pet peeves are basically the opposite of what I said–I hate it when there’s inconsistent reviewing, like 1 post a week.
What’s your favorite book(s)?
Too many to say! But off the top of my head, The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa, Delirium by Lauren Oliver, Just One Day by Gayle Forman, Venom by Fiona Paul, Poison Princess by Kresley Cole, and so many more!
I honestly can’t say…
What is the biggest turn off for you when you’re reading a book?
Biggest? Insta-love. I absolutely hate it, unless there’s a good reason like a love spell or something. But if there’s insta-love, that book is thrown back into the TBR!
[Jessi] Ugh, me too!
What first draws you to a book to make you want to read it?
Honestly? The cover. I love gorgeous covers! Of course, I always love those snyopsis where I immediately have a ton of questions!
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Name a random fact about yourself.
In 2011 I only had 5 books, now I have 2 bookcases.
Do you have a job? If so, what do you do?
What did you want to be when you were little? Has that changed?
A mermaid. I’m not kidding. When I was little I wanted to be a mermaid. In my defense, I was 6. Now i’m not quite sure what I want to be, but I have a lot of time to figure it out!
Cats or dogs?
Dogs! Although I love cats, but I’m allergic to them. I wish I knew that before I adopted one. I had to give the poor thing back.
Would it be a bit weird if I said white wolves?
White, dark, or milk chocolate?
MILK all the way!
Coke or Pepsi?
Favorite TV show?
Once Upon a Time!
Silver or teal!
Thanks for being here, Nikki! It was fantastic getting to know you!
