I’ve always thought Valentine’s Day kinda sucked. Maybe it’s just me. Maybe it only sucks to me because mine in the past have usually been full of suck due to suck-ish boyfriends. Either way, in celebration of V-Day (to take some of the suck out of it and to honor all you single lovelies), I’m showing some follower love of my own with another giveaway! Yay!!

The Faerie Ring
by Kiki Hamilton

Goodreads

Debut novelist Kiki Hamilton takes readers from the gritty slums and glittering ballrooms of Victorian London to the beguiling but menacing Otherworld of the Fey in this spellbinding tale of romance, suspense, and danger.

The year is 1871, and Tiki has been making a home for herself and her family of orphans in a deserted hideaway adjoining Charing Cross Station in central London. Their only means of survival is by picking pockets. One December night, Tiki steals a ring, and sets off a chain of events that could lead to all-out war with the Fey. For the ring belongs to Queen Victoria, and it binds the rulers of England and the realm of Faerie to peace. With the ring missing, a rebel group of faeries hopes to break the treaty with dark magic and blood–Tiki’s blood.

Unbeknownst to Tiki, she is being watched–and protected–by Rieker, a fellow thief who suspects she is involved in the disappearance of the ring. Rieker has secrets of his own, and Tiki is not all that she appears to be. Her very existence haunts Prince Leopold, the Queen’s son, who is driven to know more about the mysterious mark that encircles her wrist.

Prince, pauper, and thief–all must work together to secure the treaty…

I didn’t care for this book and was too bored to finish it, despite all the amazing reviews I read. So, I’m giving it away in hopes that someone else can enjoy it more than I did. Not because I want to get rid of it. Oh alright, that’s part of the reason. But it seemed like a better life for it than sitting on my bookshelf looking pretty. :)

  1. You’ve probably already read them, but the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare is by far my favorite! I also really loved “Ico: Castle in the Mist” by Miyuki Miyabe, as it was based off my favorite video game. (:

  2. I have been reading Clockwork Prince and I’m really liking it…I would recommend this YA series…I Also LOVED Dolphin Girl by Shel Delisle so check that out too! Great YA read :)

  3. Thanks guys, lots of great ideas! The Fever series is my fave and I love the Iron Fey!! I really liked Mortal Instruments but I couldn’t get into Wicked Lovely. I own it, so someday I’ll pick it back up and try again. Tiger’s Curse and Cinder are on the top of my TBR pile, I hope to get to it soon. I just bought Prince of Wolves and I added Ico and Dolphin Girl to my list :)

  4. Wow, that’s pretty hard to answer!! lol!

I loved the Fever series as well, also Kelley Armstrong’s Women of the Otherworld has been fabulous! Still sad that it’s ending this summer!

One of my fave YA series is Shannon Delany’s 13 to Life series! It’s just incredible!!
