What I’ve been up to this month

Struggling to balance everything! I was doing so good there for a while and now I’m just…not. Finding time for my boyfriend, reading, bookstagram, the candle shop, the house, and fitness is REALLY hard lately. I’ve been making the fitness a priority, so I’ve been doing great at that. I consistently exercise 5-6 days a week (I am honestly SO proud of myself!). Reading and bookstagram have been put on the back burner lately. I’m only posting 3-4 days a week, so I’ve been seriously slacking on my obligations and it’s making me really stressed and anxious. I also only finished 3 books all month, and my goal was 5-6.

It feels like the older I get, the faster time flies. My days are such a blur now because I’m always so busy. I can’t believe it’s already July! Where did June go?! It’s scary how fast it’s passing because I feel like I can’t keep up. Does anyone have any suggestions for time management articles or books that I could read? I need some serious help!

Sabaa Tahir signing recap

A couple of weeks ago I went down to the Cinci Joseph Beth to see Sabaa Tahir! I went by myself, but I had a great time. I finally used up my $25 gift card to the bistro – I got filet mignon with bleu cheese garnish, with red potatoes and green beans – and O M G it was literally the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. I even ate the green beans – and enjoyed them – and I haaaaate green beans!! I wasn’t going to get a drink, but when the waitress asked I was like ok sure, why not. I asked if they had mudslides and she said no, but they had this nutella martini that was similar. Holy crap, it was dangerously delicious!! I ended up having two, heh. What an amazing dinner, and it was a nice treat for myself!

I was eating dinner for most of the panel, so I missed a lot of it. I wasn’t worried about that part because I’ve seen her before. I mostly just wanted to get Reaper and my stuff signed. I did make it there in time for a giveaway – Sabaa didn’t give details, she just said she was going to do prizes. She started by asking who was a fan of Marie Lu – I didn’t raise my hand because I don’t necessarily consider myself a fan, because yeah I like her books but I don’t like looove her or anything. Damn technicalities and honesty because she picked a random person (only like 4-5 people raised their hands) and asked who the MC of Warcross was!!! Such an easy question and I totally knew that?!?! But the lady she picked didn’t know BECAUSE SHE HADN’T EVEN READ THE BOOK. Like you consider yourself a fan but haven’t even read them all?! I was SO mad at myself for not raising my hand because SABAA GAVE HER AN ARC OF WILDCARD LIKE WHAT EVEN. She didn’t even answer the question! Rawr!! I was sooo salty haha. (insert laughing & crying emojis) Damn being an introvert…

Other than that, it was a good time! I can’t wait for another event down there!

One response to “Heartbeat Monthly (6): June 2018 + Sabaa Tahir

  1. Your IG photos are gorgeous as always!! Ahh! I love how you did the TBR photo at the end there. And oops I loved Legendary hhaaha, and we usually are similar on book ratings. Also AGREED about the time management holy heck, I feel like I get nothing done despite being busy all day?? How is it even possible that it’s July. Someone slow down time for us ahhhh.Too many books to read amongst everything else!! So I hope you manage to squish everything in during July.
