Should I Change Heartbeat Weekly into Heartbeat Monthly?

Posted by Jessi (Geo) on January 18, 2018 | 5 Comments

I’ve been thinking lately about switching over from weekly wrap ups to monthly wrap ups. I don’t post consistently every week, so my hauls tend to be every month anyway. Last year they tended to be every other month. So it’s kind of pointless to name it ‘weekly!’

I really want to start wrapping up books I read, books I reviewed, and some other stats and bookish things (including bookstagram!) in my wrap ups as well, and it seems redundant to do that every week. It’s easier to just do one big haul and wrap up each month.

So here’s my dilemma: If I do decide to change it, should I start the feature over (Heartbeat Monthly #1) or continue from where I’m at, which is #104? I can’t decide! It seems such a trivial thing, really. What do you guys think?

Do you guys enjoy reading recaps? Would you rather there be less of them? Is there anyone who would miss a weekly wrap up, or do you think a monthly is better? I’d love your feedback!

  1. I think with your posting schedule, monthly makes sense. As for the numbering…I’d start with one in the title, but put something like “welcome to my 104th wrap up post” in the beginning of the post itself. That way, both numbers are there in case you decide to switch back someday

  2. Weekly wrap-ups are so fun for me to read in general, but I understand how sometimes it can be a chore to write it all out! I’ve been thinking about how to approach the “wrap-up” portion of my blog as well, now that I’m back to blogging again.

I think if you decide to switch to ‘monthly’, I would start over with #1! Do whatever works best for you! I’ll be around to check it out either way! Happy (almost) Friday!!!
