Last week’s topic: Where you live

This week’s topic is a freebie!

I’ve been wanting to talk about Skyrim because I’ve recently become re-obsessed with it! If you’ve never tried this game, you really need to. It’s soooo addicting! There’s so much you can do, and it pretty much never ends. There’s always little side quests to go on. You get to wander around on the map and discover new places and kill baddies. I love it so much!

I recently bought the add-on Dragonborn, and all I did for 3 days straight was play Skyrim (when I wasn’t working). I beat Miraak in 2 days because I couldn’t stop! I also have the Hearthfire add-on, which is pretty freaking awesome. I love the house I built! I’ve been thinking about getting the Dawnguard add-on, too, but I have no desire to be a vampire (um, I got turned once by accident and I didn’t realize it until EVERYONE was attacking me and I couldn’t even feed), and it seems like that’s the main point of it. So for now, I’m not going to bother.

I think I’m at level 60 now. It might be 61. I’m the leader of the Thieves Guild, leader of the Dark Brotherhood, Arch Mage of the College of Winterhold, harbinger of the Companions (Companions = werewolves. Yes, I’m a werewolf), and Thane of every city I can possibly be Thane of (with houses in all of them). I like to dominate, haha. I have Daedric armor, and my armor rating is about 1300 or 1400 (which is insane!). My favorite weapon is the Daedric mace. I’ve taken to dual wielding now, so I have one enchanted with soul trap and one that deals fire damage and stamina damage. I’ve managed to get some of my skills up to 100: Enchanting, Smithing, Block, One-handed, and Heavy Armor. Archery was at 100 but I chose Legendary and reset it. My Speech is at 98, I think, and my Lockpicking is at 99, so they’re both almost there. You can tell I never use magic, because all of those skills are still at like 30… >.>
With the Hearthfire add-on, I married Farkas and adopted two children – Runa and Hroar (no, I didn’t name them). Lydia is still my follower, I can’t bear to choose anyone else! None of the others compare!

Next week’s topic: Before 2014 ends

Your turn! Make your own post telling everyone about your own freebie topic and link up :)

  1. Oh, Skyrim. I just recently, as in the past 2 months, started playing. I restarted a new game a few weeks ago and I’m around level 55. I love using Light Armor though and have it almost maxed out. I agree about magic use, I never use it! I think my lowest level is probably blocking which is in the 20s. Skyrim is pretty much why I haven’t been reading lately.

  2. Girlfren’, I’m thinking you may be hearing crickets on this particular Life as a Blogger segment. LOL. Homegirl here is NOT a gamer. Especially since the hubby used to be addicted to World of Warcraft. No video games are allowed in the house unless it’s Dance Revolution. LOL.

  3. And then I see that it’s a freebie. Hah. Just now noticed that. Will be posting my freebie shortly. But at least you know where I stand when it comes to gaming, right? LOL.

  4. I play video games quite a lot but I’ve never really thought of giving Skyrim (or any of the games in the Elder Scrolls series) a go. Open world games that go on forever just aren’t really my thing, I’m much more of a linear-storyline, get-from-one-goal-to-another-with-a-couple-of-sidequests-inbetween kind of gamer, but who knows I may broaden my horizons in the future and give Skyrim a go!

  5. I haven’t played Skyrim but I’ve watched my husband play it. Reminds me a bit of Fable (now that’s a game I played RELIGIOUSLY).

I’m really bad at gaming right now, I have three games that I’m in the middle of. Professor Layton, Professor Layton/Phoenix Wright, and Assassin’s Creed.

  6. Just discovered your blog through another blog. I love this blog series. I recently started a series very similar and oddly enough post it on the same day as you. Reading these types of post tend to be one of my favorite aspect of blogs.
