This week’s topic: Favorite quotes
Topic suggested by Dee @ Lectrice Vorace
I usually tend to stay away from bookish-esque topics on Life of a Blogger, since I wanted it to be more about your personal life. But, I can’t talk about favorite quotes without including the bookish ones. Therefore I’m going to split mine into two sections!
Favorite Non-Bookish Quotes
My ALL TIME favorite quote ever is this:
When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you will always long to return. -Da Vinci
I freaking LOVE this quote so hard! I went skydiving for my 21st birthday, and there is nothing like the feeling of flying. I’ve always wished I could fly, and ever since I did that I often find my eyes drifting toward the sky, dreaming I was up there.
Here’s another that I’m quite fond of:
Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind. -Dr. Seuss
As most of you probably know, I tend to speak my mind even when I shouldn’t. And I tend to have the unpopular opinion, which sometimes pisses people off. So I kind of live by this quote!
Favorite Bookish Quotes
Okay, I know I’m going to end up forgetting something here, but I’ll try my best!
I will be unapologetic. I will live with no regrets. I will reach into the earth and rip out the injustice and I will crush it in my bare hands. -Tahereh Mafi, Ignite Me
Maybe you can afford to wait. Maybe for you there’s a tomorrow. Maybe for you there’s one thousand tomorrows, or three thousand, or ten, so much time you can bathe in it, roll around it, let it slide like coins through you fingers. So much time you can waste it. But for some of us there’s only today. And the truth is, you never really know. -Lauren Oliver, Before I Fall
Let’s carpe the hell out of this diem. -Alexandra Bracken, The Darkest Minds
Hope strengthens, fear kills. -Karen Marie Moning, Shadowfever
I spent my life folded between the pages of books. -Tahereh Mafi, Shatter Me
It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default. -J.K. Rowling
