me being cute lolMeet Courtney!

Hello! I’m Courtney and I just turned 22 at the end of May. I know I don’t look it, but trust me, I am 22. I happen to reside in Connecticut. And, yes, I still live with my parents. I’m absolutely broke so I can’t afford anything besides books. But I mean, what else do I need besides books? Anyways, I just graduated from college, which is awesome. I finally have that little piece of paper that says I accomplished something. Also, I love peanut butter. A lot. Too much probably.

[Jessi] I’m obsessed with peanut butter, too!

How long have you been blogging? What made you want to start a book blog?

Not that long actually. I just started in mid April. I’ve been familiar with the book blogging world for about a year or so now and it just seemed like so much fun to write about books you love and meet awesome people who enjoy and are as passionate about books as you are. It’s really wonderful. So one day, I finally decided to do it and I am so happy that I did!

What do you do when you’re not blogging or reading?

I can usually be found listening to music. I never go anywhere without my iPod. Music is my life. Probably more so than books, which is really saying something. I like to crank it up really loud in my room and sing along with the lyrics. Some of my favorite bands are Sleeping with Sirens, Paramore, and A Skylit Drive. All of which I have seen in concert.

What is your favorite part about blogging? Least favorite?

Are you guys ready for the cliché answer? *drum roll* The people! I haven’t met too many, but each new person that I meet is just so nice and dedicated to what they do. It’s really amazing. The least favorite is that I always seem to run out of time. There are just not enough hours in the day.

Where did you come up with the name for your blog?

To be honest, I was trying to be clever, haha. It didn’t work. It seemed okay at the time but now that I’ve been stuck with it for a few months, I really want to change it to something else.

Do you have any specific book bloggers that inspire you?

There aren’t really any specific bloggers. It’s really just the whole community that WOWs me every single day and makes me want to be better at my blogging.

What do you look for in a blog when following? What are your pet peeves?

Definitely the layout, it needs to be organized. And I look for humor as well. My pet peeves would be when I can’t find how to follow someone, or when the font is so hard to read that it takes me like ten hours to read a paragraph.

What’s your favorite book(s)?

Oh jeez, probably The Vampire Academy series as well as the spin off series, Bloodlines by Richelle Mead. The Lux series by Jennifer L Armentrout. And Project 17 by Laurie Faria Stolarz.

Favorite author?

It’s a tie between Richelle Mead and JLA.

What is the biggest turn off for you when you’re reading a book?

When the writer can’t write with a teenagers voice. It’s like they think they know how teenagers talk but they really don’t. It’s kind of funny but in the end it’s just really annoying. There always seems to be an overabundance of the words “dude” and “like.”

What first draws you to a book to make you want to read it?

I totally judge a book by its cover. We all do it. So I don’t feel too bad about it.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Sarcastic. Shy. Caring.

Name a random fact about yourself.

I love to collect antiques. I seriously collect everything. I have old skeleton keys, pictures, opera glasses, I even have a child’s Victorian shoe. Kinda weird, but I love it.

Do you have a job? If so, what do you do?

I do not. I haven’t had a job since I was 16 when I worked in a Daycare.

What did you want to be when you were little? Has that changed?

It changed all the time. First it was a teacher, then a marine biologist, a vet. It has changed a lot. Up until recently I wanted to be a social worker and handle adoptions and stuff like that but literally a month or so ago I’ve had an interest in being a Speech Pathologist or an Audiologist.

Randomness

 Cats or dogs?
Definitely cats, I feel like we have the same kind of personality but I love dogs as well. I actually have a dog, his name is Tucker and I love him to death.

 Favorite animal?
Any kind of big cat. But I’m partial to tigers. I’m actually thinking of symbolically adopting one on WWF because they are so close to becoming extinct. It’s so devastating.

 White, dark, or milk chocolate?
Milk chocolate.

 Coke or Pepsi?
If we’re talking products then Pepsi because I am addicted to Mountain Dew. Seriously, I would kill for it. But if we’re talking about the actual drinks, Coke or Pepsi, then neither. I’m not a fan of “brown” soda.

 Favorite TV show?
Friends, all the way. I’ve been watching that show since forever. I can quote every episode and tell you what episode a quote comes from. It’s ridiculous to be honest.

 Movie?
It’s a three way tie between The Mummy (remake), Twister and Tremors. I can quote them as well. If I have one of them playing on the DVD player and I’m doing something else, I can still quote it because I know exactly what’s going on even if I’m not really watching it.
[Jessi] TREMORS! Oh my gosh I love those movies!! Now I want to watch them…

 Color?
It varies from day to day. Some days it’s blue, others it’s purple

Thanks for being here today, Courtney! It was great getting to know you! :)
