Review: Nevermore by Kelly Creagh

Review: Nevermore by Kelly Creagh

I felt that this book was much too long for the content. It dragged on a bit for me, and I think if some of the filler had been cut out, I would have enjoyed it a lot more. There wasn’t much at all happening for the first ¾ of the book (and seeing as how it’s 500+ pages long, that’s a lot), just an occasional creeptastic part to pique my interest and make me wonder what would happen. I […]

This one dragged a bit in the beginning for me, but around page 100 or so – when Bryn opens her mind to the pack – it really picked up and from then on, the rest of the book flew by. Bryn was only 15, but had a mature voice. I felt as if it was a bit too mature at times – and really, what kind of 15-year-old uses words like obfuscation, eschewed, and impertinent? I don’t mind big […]

Secrets, lies, and danger, indeed! Slide was a fast-paced thriller with a plot that was crazy and twisted – I flew through this book in a matter of a few short hours because I didn’t want to put it down. The question of ‘Who is the killer?’ kept me thoroughly intrigued. Even though I rarely pick up mysteries, I enjoy reading them and trying to figure out what’s going to happen. Slide was a bit predictable, I’m afraid. I had a feeling of […]

The premise of this book….I can’t even. Okay, imagine a world where people live to be pretty. I’m not talking like the stars and famous people of now, I mean when you turn 16 everyone gets an operation to make them look pretty. Everyone looks the same and acts the same. Being Pretty is normal, and every Littlie dreams of the day when they can have the operation and no longer be an Ugly. A world of happy mindless robots, where […]

Review: Rules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles

I adore love/hate romance stories. I really do. I loved this book! Not quite as much as I loved Perfect Chemistry, but it was still awesome! Elkeles has a great talent for creating realistic characters. The POV switched back and forth, so as the reader I was able to get to know both Carlos and Kiara in depth. There was a clear change in voices and they had their own individual personalities. It was easy to tell where one person ended […]

Review: Glimmerglass by Jenna Black

The hardest reviews to write are for books that didn’t inspire much of anything in me either way – love or hate. This was one of those. It was good, but not great. It was a quick and light read and I don’t regret reading it, but I don’t think I would read it again. I had mixed feelings about Dana. She was an alright lead, but she annoyed me at times. First of all, she was selfish. She ran […]
