**CAUTION: Possible spoilers for Hex Hall if you have not read it!!** Holy hell weasel, this book was just as good (if not better) than Hex Hall!! Hawkins really brings it in the second installment with even more twists, danger, and betrayal. There were so many things I never saw coming! Demonglass was riveting, particularly in the last quarter – and okay, I admit it, I got a little misty in certain parts. But it also made me giggle a […]

I devoured this book within 3 hours. I think that’s a record for me! I don’t finish a book in one day very often, but it usually takes me 4 or 5 hours for a 300 page book. Hex Hall was just that amazing!   I loved Sophie. She was a very easy lead to relate to – seemingly average, not the most popular and maybe even a bit nerdy. In the first 80 pages or so, I was thinking about putting this one down. Boy, am I glad I didn’t! In the beginning, I really didn’t care for it because of several reasons: 1) The cursing. I have absolutely no problem with a little foul language, but I feel it was a bit excessive at times. 2) It seemed a bit like a male’s wet dream complete with lesbian bondage […]

The only complaint I have about this book: It wasn’t long enough. The stories within a story were awesome and really set the scene (even though I didn’t really know it). The tale of the dragon was very witty and I really liked the Ice Flower story, but my favorite was the new take on a werewolf stemming from Alchemy. Very interesting and unique! The touch of steampunk was pretty cool too! The relationship between Rolph and Tara moved a bit […]

I didn’t really know what to think of this book. It started out really slow and although I love paranormal stuff, this story didn’t seem to sell very well at first. It came off as a little cheesy and cliche in some spots, but as the story started to pick up I actually found myself enjoying it. I almost gave up a couple times, but after like page 150 or so it finally gets interesting.   In the beginning Zara […]
