This book was totally creepy! It grabbed my attention right from the beginning and refused to let go. Suspenseful and chilling, I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, wondering what would happen next. I just want to get something off my mind right now before I go any further: I don’t know what’s up with killing felines in books lately, but it really needs to stop. It doesn’t add anything to the story except outrage (for […]

This was my first foray into the world of horror books. And a good one it was! The first thing I loved about this book? The writing is RED. Which happens to be my favorite color, so bonus points there. The second thing (more bonus points), Blake used the word kerfuffle. Which happens to be my favorite word! She also used clusterfuck, which is another awesome, giggle-enticing word. Yay!   Anyway, off to the story. I don’t get scared watching […]

I had a lot of mixed feelings about this book. While there were parts I liked, there were also parts I didn’t. I loved that it started right off the bat with Lenzi hearing voices. It grabbed me right away and held my attention. What I didn’t enjoy was the love triangle. GROAN. I knew when I bought it that there was going to be one, but was hoping that the awesome story line would drown it out. Thankfully, it […]

Carrie’s writing skills have really improved since she wrote Need. I didn’t care for that one, but this one was pretty darn good! Dark and haunting – it definitely had the creep factor. It was a quick read and went smoothly. The descriptions were great but not too lengthy, I was able to get a good picture in my head without getting bored. I think this would make a great movie!   I liked that it switched back and forth […]

I don’t really have much to say about this book since I liked it. I have absolutely nothing to complain about as far as prose goes (which is what makes long book reviews for me…spending time complaining). The first line of this book is “Whoever said dying was easy was full of crap,” so just with the very first sentence I was hooked. The beginning was interesting and attention-grabbing, giving you a glimpse at dying and the afterlife through Patrick’s eyes. […]
