To be honest, the writing style was a major issue for me. It was in Molly’s voice, so it was written in the slang-ish ‘snarky’ way that a 16-year-old would talk. Or supposed to be, anyway. To me it seemed much more juvenile than 16 and I felt like the attempts at humor and sarcasm just tried to hard. The points that were probably supposed to be funny didn’t even draw a twitch of the lips from me. Instead I […]

When I was reading this, I loved it. But now that a few days have passed, I realized: This book is forgettable. For me, at least. The pacing was quick and there were times when I was so engrossed that I couldn’t put the book down. But now, looking back, I find I have to think hard to remember the details, although it’s only been a couple days since I finished. That’s not a good thing. I liked Anna. Liked, […]

So, I wanted to read this book really bad because the cover was amazing and it sounded cool, then when Inky was like, HEY this book is about a girl who can talk to cats! (because I somehow missed the cat part in the synopsis -JessiFail-) I was pretty sure I would love it. And love it I did!!! (I really don’t think there’s any possible way I could have NOT liked it!)

First of all, I waited WAY too long to write this review. I already forgot most of the book and had to skim through it to remember! Sad, I know. I enjoyed it while I was reading it, but it didn’t make much of a lasting impression on me. The world building was really cool, and I found the idea of Mystics fascinating. Kind of like X-Men, each Mystic has their own individual special power they can use through the […]

Not gonna lie, in the beginning I didn’t like this book much at all. The first 100 pages or so would probably only have scored a 2 or 2.5 rating for me. I was unimpressed with the characters, and it was a bit too cliche for me. Girl meets sexy bad boy who acts like a jerk to keep people at a distance, and they conveniently get stuck as school partners? Ugh. And even though the visions were weird and slightly […]

Gosh, I don’t even know where to start! Even with all the hype, this book was so much more than I expected! I mean, I love dystopians. And I pretty much like most of the ones I read. But this one pushed and shoved itself right to the top of that list! It’s the best dystopian I’ve read since The Hunger Games! The world building. Ahhh, so fabulous! It was CINEMATIC. I had absolutely no problem picturing everything in my […]
