WARNING: This book is ADULT book. Do not make the mistake of thinking it is YA, because it is positively, unequivocally, NOT. It contains explicit sexual content, strong language, and loooots of violence. #stabstabstab Never flinch. Never fear. Never forget. Honestly, I don’t think any words I could say could ever do this book justice. But I will try my best! This book absolutely BLEW. ME. AWAY. (Just like I knew it was going to.) If you didn’t already know, […]

Review: A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab

Review: A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab

I really enjoyed jumping back into this world! Victoria Schwab is very talented at creating unique and vivid stories, and this one is no exception. It didn’t quite have the magic that A Darker Shade of Magic held for me, but I still enjoyed it! What really dragged this one down was the pacing. The book is more than 500 pages long, and there’s a long span in the middle where almost nothing is happening. I found myself getting bored […]

What a satisfying end to an adorable series! It’s been a long time since I read the second book, but I was thrilled to jump back into this magical world. I absolutely LOVE the magic in this book! It seemed like Dusty and Eli’s relationship was always difficult. If it wasn’t one thing getting in between them, it was another. I loved that they still stayed strong despite it all, though! They didn’t give up on each other. I adore […]

A special thank you to Hyperion for providing a copy for review! While I still didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first book, it was better than the 2nd! It was a good ending to a very interesting trilogy. I figured Zane was going to end up like Ariane in this book! It still kinda sucked though, that St. John used him as a weapon. I can imagine what it was like for Ariane when he walked into […]

I think I mentioned in my review of Between the Lines that I would have never looked twice at these books based off of the covers. This one is better than the last, but it still doesn’t scream “Young Adult fantasy” to me. But I’m very glad I received this one for review, because I really enjoyed it! I am highly impressed by how much the writing style improved from the last book. (Part of that may be because two heads are […]

A School for Unusual Girls by Kathleen Baldwin

A School for Unusual Girls by Kathleen Baldwin

Thank you to Tor Teen for providing this copy for review! I never was able to tell if the girls at the School actually had supernatural abilities, or if they were just very talented. And smart. It kind of seemed like a paranormal, but it read more like a historical? Which would usually be a bad thing for me, because most of the time anything even remotely historical makes my brain shut down. But this was surprisingly not all that bad! […]
