I loved The Rules. LOVED it (I rated it 5 heartbeats!). Sadly, though, the sequel lacked the magic of the first book. I still enjoyed it for the most part, but it didn’t wow me like the first book did. I felt like little to nothing actually happened in the first 3/4 of this book, and the pacing dragged in the middle. It was mostly Zane and Ariane bickering and disagreeing and keeping things from each other. I understand that conflict […]

I will try my best not to include spoilers outside of spoiler tags, but it is very difficult to talk about without spoiling anything, so beware! I say this in every review of a Julie Kagawa book: Julie cannot write a bad book. It’s just not possible. There hasn’t been a single book she’s written that I didn’t love, and this one was no exception!! I was sad to see this trilogy end, but I loved the way everything was wrapped […]

See the full list of topics HERE. Last week’s topic: Handwriting Topic suggested by Hazel @ Stay Bookish Oh man, where do I start? Well, I love food. *looks at figure* Obviously, haha. Unfortunately, I love all the bad-for-you food and hate almost all healthy food. I’ve been trying for a while to eat healthier, but I keep slipping :( I did manage to give up Mountain Dew, though, which was a big deal for me! Fun fact: I don’t […]

Always in the shadows, draped in ivy and sorrow, the house waits for a child too daring for his own good. Yes, this book was kind of fluffy, but there was a decent undercurrent of darkness that I loved. Maybe it didn’t quite achieve the ominous feeling that the name implies, but it had its fair share of seriousness. I absolutely LOVED the magic of this story! I loved that there was always a high price for magic and I feel as […]
