What a fabulous high fantasy full of intrigue, secrets, and lies! The concept was awesome. There were magists that controlled/enforced magic and made spells, yet “wilder” magic was outlawed and punishable by death. I freaking LOVED the drakes! A princess must have her prince. This book was so delightfully twisted! I loved the dark concept of the sirens and their tradition of taking human hearts for every year of their life – literally.
