While fairly fluffy (as per usual with Kiersten White), Illusions of Fate was a cute and magical read! I liked Jessamin for the most part. She was stubborn, but determined, and stood up for what she believed in no matter what. I love that she’s not white! It’s so rare to find that in YA, it was refreshing to have an MC with a different background. I’m not quite sure how I felt about Finn, though. At times he reminded me a […]

While I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as I enjoyed Reboot, Rebel was a great conclusion to a very unique duology! There was plenty of action and edge-of-your-seat moments. Callum and Wren’s relationship was beautiful. It wasn’t without conflict, but they stuck together and stayed strong when times get tough. Instead of bickering, or being petty (like you see so often in YA), they supported each other. That’s what I want to see! Once again, I loved Wren. She’s a […]

Review: Deliverance by C. J. Redwine

I’m sorry to say that this book is my least favorite of the series, but I still enjoyed the journey and I like the way everything was wrapped up in the end. And something I liked – this book was really dark. Most of the book is a major struggle for both Logan and Rachel (especially Rachel). There was a lot of gloom and doom, which really drove home the desperation of the characters. Sadly the pacing was horribly slow through […]

If it works for armies and athletes, maybe it can work for me. I’m a girl who believes in fighting for what she wants. I wasn’t a huge fan of Venom, but something I mentioned in my review was that I was really impressed with Fiona’s (Paula’s) writing style. This book was no exception! There’s something about the way she puts her words together that makes you want to keep reading. Her prose is interesting and entertaining! As far as […]

To be honest, I was a little nervous going into this. I wanted to read it really badly because of the amazing cover and interesting synopsis, but at the same time – I hated Die for Me. HATED. But thankfully, this was much different! I feel as if Amy Plum’s writing style has vastly improved since the Revenants series, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! I’ll admit it was a little overwhelming at first because there […]

Boy, was I looking forward to this book. Because DRAGONS. But…meh.   First of all, I was expecting this awesome Urban Fantasy, and it ended up being a cookie-cutter Dystopian with dragons thrown in the mix. That was my first problem. My second problem was that the character interaction and dialogue was just…absurd.   “Put these on if it’s too bright for you, Callahan. We don’t want you squinting like you’re blocked up or something.” Um…oookaaay. Who says that? And […]
