I’ve been looking for another mermaid book that I could love as much as Forgive My Fins. Alas, this was not the one. I loved the premise, really I did. The back story was fantastic. I just didn’t care for the delivery or the prose. Or any of the characters. I was skeptical about the book as soon as I read the prologue, but I decided to give it a chance anyway. In the beginning, a mermaid is ‘in love’ with […]

Audiobook Review: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

This was such a magical storyline that I couldn’t help but love it because it’s unlike anything I’ve ever read before. The water horses, capaill uisce (sounds like cap-pull ish-kuh), are basically kelpies. I’ve never read a story about kelpies before, and the idea of a deadly man-eating water horse fascinates me. Taming and racing them adds to that! I freaking loved Puck!! She was fiery and brave, a bit petulant at times, but compassionate and outspoken. Her and I would totally […]

I had seen this one compared to Stephanie Meyer’s The Host… in a way, it’s kind of similar just because it’s two minds sharing one body, but that’s where the similarities end. What’s Left of Me was unlike anything I’ve ever read before! The premise is so fantastic that I couldn’t help but enjoy it – two souls sharing the same body is awesome and awful all at the same time! On one hand, you’d never be alone; you’d have a best […]

This book contains sexual content and is suitable for mature readers only.   I’ve been wanting to read Kailin’s books for a while, so when I saw the tour I jumped on it. I wasn’t overly impressed with Never Say Never, but it was a light and cute read. I would definitely try out more of Kailin’s work in the future. This one was short as you can see, so it was easy to get through. However, due to the […]

Fans of Perfect Chemistry will love this one! I know I’m really into a book if it can make me cry, and this one did several times. It also made me laugh frequently, which earns even more bonus points. Noah and Echo were both beautifully flawed. They had both been through a lot for being so young, and had the scars to prove it. I love how at the start, things seem very black and white in their lives, and […]

I found this book to be a bit disappointing. Maybe I was just expecting too much out of it. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it. But it didn’t wow me like I thought it would. The beginning was very discouraging for me. There were so many terms and made up words thrown around without explanation that I very nearly gave up on it because I didn’t know what the hell was going on. I really think the world should […]
