The only complaint I have about this book: It wasn’t long enough. The stories within a story were awesome and really set the scene (even though I didn’t really know it). The tale of the dragon was very witty and I really liked the Ice Flower story, but my favorite was the new take on a werewolf stemming from Alchemy. Very interesting and unique! The touch of steampunk was pretty cool too! The relationship between Rolph and Tara moved a bit […]

This story was beautiful and enchanting. I loved all the magical beings mentioned; sylphs, centaurs, trolls, and my favorite – dragons. I have always had an affinity for dragons, so that aspect alone made me like it even more. Also, I love originality and Incarnate had it in bounds. The idea of the same souls being reincarnated lifetimes over, the being known as ‘Janan’ (their God), and the unique take on sylphs and dragons. Everything about the world created was […]

Good. Lord. You have no idea how glad I am to finally be done with  this book. So many times I thought about giving up and parting ways, but by some sick and twisted compulsion I had to finish it. I have so many complaints about this book that I kinda don’t even want to do this review.   I hated Theia. With the fire of a thousand suns. I’m talking hate like, if-I-ever-met-you-I’d-stab-you-in-the-eye-with-a-rusty-fork hate. She was a boring person […]

I kept waiting for this story to grab hold of me and pull me under (tee hee). Sadly, it never did. Not to say I didn’t like it, because it was still pretty good…but I found myself getting bored frequently. It was a refreshing change to be told in the POV of a male protag. My comfort zone really lies with female lead roles, so this story broke that mold for me. I do believe the only other male POV’s I’ve read are […]

Kickass heroine, check. Sexy mage, check. Cat-demon minion, check. Finding a book that’s actually worth your time, priceless. Ha, sorry couldn’t resist :) This book was a refreshing change from the last book I read (Dead Until Dark). It was fast paced and magical, and even had a little humor in it. Sabina was pretty awesome. She was tough and sarcastic and didn’t take crap from anyone – sounds like my kind of protag! I found myself picturing Michelle Rodriguez […]

Boy, do I despise getting my hopes up. There was so much hype and talk about this series that I was absolutely sure I’d like it. So, what did my dumb-ass self do? Bought the first NINE books. *bashes face into keyboard*  Aside from the obviously novice prose, there were so many things that were absolutely awful and wrong with this book that I don’t even know where to start.   Brace yourself, this is going to be long. If […]
