Despite feeling rather apathetic about Daughter of the Pirate King, I had high hopes for this one. Vikings!! Norse mythology!!! But sadly, it didn’t work for me much at all. It took me two tries to get into this book. My first attempt I DNFed it within 25-30 pages, because the way Alosa regarded men grated on my nerves.
