What a glorious end to an amazing series!! I really enjoyed it, but I’m very sad to see it go. I can’t believe I’ll never see Morph again :( I was so thrilled to jump back into the world that Howard creates! I didn’t realize how much I’d missed it. It’s sooo twisted…I love it! There were certain scenes where I was just like …..creeeeeepyyy…… and ok, I was a little disturbed. MORPHEUS. OMG. How I love him!! As always, I was […]

I saw Mindee at a signing a while back, and during the panel she said that while writing this book, her mind was in a very dark place. That as a result, this book was dark. Which was why I was so excited to read this: I loooove dark! It wasn’t quite as dark story-wise as I was hoping, but Jeth? That’s another story. He was very dark in this book. It’s refreshing to read an MC with flaws, one that screws […]

Review: The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

Review: The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

I’m afraid this is yet another book that has second book syndrome for me, sadly. It just didn’t have the magic that the first book had! I still highly enjoyed Rick Yancey’s writing style. His prose is beautiful! I’m afraid, though, that I didn’t really connect with the story like I’d hoped. As you can see in my Assessment section, my feels were fairly low. Even the super shocking scenes didn’t spark much for me. No gasping, no gaping, no WTF?!s […]

It has been a very, very long time since a book has disappointed me so much. It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. *sighs dramatically* I liked the first book, but didn’t love it. The second book was really good, and I liked it much better. After seeing review after review, RAVING about this book and how incredible it was, and seeing people’s WTF status updates, I expected this book to be mind blowing. Maybe because […]

It was so much fun to read this series again! I’m still surprised by how much I had forgotten about this series. It never really stuck with me the way The Wayfarer Redemption did, but it was amazing nonetheless! I loved the part with the Axis and Inardle in the ice hex, and the story behind the River Angels was riveting! I had completely forgotten that. The One was as creepy as I remembered, and it was satisfying to see […]

There was a lot of talk about the Threshold in this one, and it made me wish that I had read her book, Threshold. I would probably have known much more of the backstory on the pyramid, the One, and the magi! “I find all my strength in the beat of your heart.” It was kind of amazing how Ishbel and Maxel fell apart so badly only to come back together stronger! And ok how about Ravenna? How could I forget […]
