While this book didn’t necessarily stick with me, the concept was awesome! DRAGONADORS!! Like matadors, but with dragons! Fucking awesome, dude. It was unlike anything I’ve ever read before! I adored the dragon parts of this story and appreciated the Spanish culture, but the emotion was just not there for me. I would have liked to have connected to the characters and the story much more than I did. Especially considering there were dragons! The romance didn’t do it for […]

Top Ten Tuesday: Things that make me instantly NOT want to read a book

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl 1. It’s by an author I don’t like. I know, this one is basically a given for anyone, but it’s my number one because it’s the first thing I’ll turn my nose up at when I see a new book. Authors I tend to steer clear of because I never like their stuff: Sarah J Maas, Holly Black, Cassandra Clare (this one is more of the fact that I’m tired […]

This isn’t my first King novel – I read the first two Dark Tower books and half of the third (and just…never finished, oops. I hit a suuuper boring part and never picked it back up again *shrugs*). I have to admit that I find his books intimidating, not only because they’re always HUGE but also because he’s SO hyped and I’m a black sheep. Baa. However, this one really worked for me! It’s almost two different stories in one, […]

I’m SO sad I didn’t love this one like I did the first book. The shining star of the first is the relationship between Lionheart/Climbs Quickly and Stephanie, and I felt like it took a bit of a backseat in this one. It’s still fairly prominent, and still utterly beautiful and endearing; but it’s lessened from A Beautiful Friendship. We spent less time with Lionheart and that diminished my enjoyment a lot. I really could have done without the romance, […]

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl 1. It’s written by Jay Kristoff. I will literally read anything and everything that man writes. He could write a book about accounting and I’d read it. 2. It has a gorgeous cover. Don’t we all judge books by their covers?! It’s the first thing about a book you notice, and eye catching covers make me look twice and read the synopsis. 3. There’s a cat involved. If there’s a […]
