I’ve been wanting to read this book forever, and with the depth of that desire and all the hype surrounding the book, I was afraid I was going to be disappointed. That was definitely not the case. Meyer painted a beautiful and vivid world that I enjoyed living in! This is only the second fairytale retelling that I’ve read (Beastly being the first). While there were a few similarities between Cinder and its inspiration, Cinderella (evil step-mother and two step-sisters, the shoe, […]

The year is 1876, and there’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia… Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about. Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. I had some trouble getting into this one. To be honest, I wanted to put it down in the first half. I’m glad I didn’t, because the last quarter was pretty good! I think I was bored early on because there wasn’t much happening action-wise. This is only the second true zombie book I’ve read, and I was expecting an overload of flesh-eating zombies. But, they hardly had an appearance except for the very beginning and very end, which disappointed me […]

I’m not exactly sure, even as I’m typing, how to go about writing this review. Even after finishing this book I don’t quite know how I feel about it. Do I love it? Hate it? I suppose I’m sort of on the fence on this one. I’m hovering somewhere in between the black and white…in the Grey. Ha – see what I did there? *ahem* But seriously. First of all, this was my very first erotica. Sure, I’ve read books with […]

This was a step outside of my usual circle of genres for me. I like forensic stuff and I’m a huge fan of the show Dexter, but this was the first thriller/murder mystery I’ve ever read (unless you count Deadly Cool, which I don’t). Like a typical crime scene setup, there were some gruesome scenes in this book – so if you’re really squeamish, I probably wouldn’t recommend it. Those scenes didn’t exactly go into depth and detail and they […]
