I’ve seen a few custom funkos out there that inspired me to make these (see @pieraforde’s custom Mia & Mister Kindly, @bookstorefinds custom Mia, Tric, & Mister Kindly, & @howlingpages custom Manon Blackbeak) and I had soooo much fun with it! It’s definitely something I want to try again in the future!
How I did it
Here’s the funkos I used for my three customs:
Mister Kindly: Artemis
Manon: Bella head, Evie body
Me: Elise head, Hermione body
First things first, I took them apart.
I soaked them in hot water for about 15-20 min. Trial and error: the water was not hot enough. (Andrea said that she actually boiled her water.) I ended up having to use an Exacto knife to cut the heads off.
Before splicing the heads together, I began the long process of painting. (No, seriously, it took like 9283493 freaking coats of paint)
Here’s a pic of Manon before I painted her eyes gold, showing PhantomRin’s depiction of her – which was my inspiration of my funko! I had contemplated just leaving her eyes black because that’s how all Funkos are, but I’m very happy with the way she looks with her signature golden eyes!
Next I made her iron nails out of polymer clay. These were SO tedious!! But look how badass they are:
I also made my own custom funko’s glasses out of polymer clay!
The finished result
What custom funkos would you like to see?
Jessi, these are so beautiful! I’ve been loving the photos you’ve been posting of them on instagram! I wish I had the talent to do this myself! If I could make any custom Funko, I think the first one I would try for would be a group of Raven Boys<3!
Beautiful. I love it! If I would make any custom Funko, it’s the characters from Six of Crows!
THIS IS AMAZING AND YOU’RE SO TALENTED. Mia and Mister Kindly though are just the besssst and I love how you did yourself too. This is just so cute eeep!
Cool! You are so creative!
definitely going to use these for inspiration! thank you so much!!<3
