Okay, so I’d enjoy anything Mortal Instruments just because I love the world. But sadly, I’ve fallen out of love with this series. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed it while reading – but ever since City of Glass, the books have failed to leave a lasting impression on me. It’s kind of like beating a dead horse at this point. I strongly believe that Cassie should have left this a trilogy, the way it was originally meant to […]

I love this world so much! It was wonderful to jump back into it. There’s something about the world that Anne Bishop writes that draws you in. MEG AND SIMON FEELS!! I love them together. They are so totally adorable. I’ve pretty much shipped them from the beginning, but I absolutely love that there’s no romance between them. (There’s no romance at all in this series, actually. It’s so refreshing.) They’re so cute though!! I love that he thinks of […]

What a fabulous concept! I think that was the driving point of this novel for me. I highly enjoyed the world and all of the monsters. I also loved the Hunters and the fact that they had a celebrity status – all of the costumes and colors reminded me a bit of the way the Jaeger pilots were portrayed in the beginning of Pacific Rim! This book was certainly cinematic – it would be awesome as a movie! There was […]

Gosh, what can I say about this series that I haven’t already said?! It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read before! My favorite part of this series by far is the characters. I love them so much! Tess, Simon, Meg, Sam, Grandfather Erebus, Jenni, Vlad, Nathan…I love them all! Anne Bishop’s characterization is awesome! Tess is definitely my favorite. She’s so badass! And you know when her hair starts turning green, then red, then streaking with black…she means business. I love it! […]

Anne Bishop has a way with words! While this one didn’t quite have the magic that Written in Red did, it was still amazing! I think the best part of this series by far is the characterization. Each and every character is very fleshed out and realistic, and it seems like Anne really took care in building a personality for everyone. I looove the characters! Meg is fabulous, and in this one I feel like she grew even more. She’s finally […]

This book and I had a love/hate relationship. On one hand, I kind of hated it. The writing was HORRIBLY sophomoric, the interactions were juvenile, and the action scenes weren’t really believable. The writing didn’t sell the story. I think this had the potential to be an awesome book if the execution had been better. The beginning was rough for me. I was really struggling for a while. The attempt at humor was so ridiculous it had me rolling my eyes and […]
