Happy US book birthday to the amazing @misterkristoff and this epic, heartbreaking, beautiful book! I daresay it was even better than the first! My review went live on the blog today if you wanna check it out. I’m currently listening to the audio (10/10 recommend, Damian Lynch NAILS those accents 👌🏻) for my re-read before I go see Jay in Chicago on Thursday! I am SO EXCITED!!!

A: I am totally guilty of buying multiple editions of my favorites. I have 2-5 copies of pretty much every book that Jay has published. 🤣 I also have about 6 copies of Red Rising. I’m a collector just as much as I am a reader!

Happy new year! Did you meet your reading goals for 2023? What are your goals for 2024?

I read 156 books in 2023, which is the most I’ve ever read in a year! I’m hoping to make it to 150 again this year. I’ve been able to read more and more since I discovered audiobooks because I can listen all day at work, and I usually listen at 1.7x-2x speed. It was a rough year so I didn’t physically read very much 😅

I’m hoping to leave 2023 behind and start 2024 with a fresh mindset. I lost myself a little the past couple of years and am hoping to do a bit of self discovery this year.

Sprayed edges attempt = fail 😅

I wanted to re-read Fourth Wing so I could annotate, and I got a wild hair and decided to customize my book!
This project took me literally all day. I was going to use the front cover design for the main front edge, so I removed the letters and hand drew the designs in the gap (I used Procreate for this). It took so long it was dark by the time I finished which is why there’s less video toward the end of the project and the quality is crap.

I didn’t even bother attempting the front and side edges. The front design was so complicated with so many small pieces I don’t think I’d have been able to even get it to stick to spray it. lIl probably do a larger, less complicated design when I can figure out what paint will stick.

I think the metallic paint is why this failed.
The glitter was literally just rubbing off everywhere. I’m gonna try again with matte spray paint!

I also got HTV so I could do a custom design on the naked hardcover, stay tuned for that 😄

Some more fun additions to the library! Two felt letter boards, 3 new dangly plants and a potted plant, and a 3D printed book dragon! I also moved the lightbox to a different shelf with the dragon bookend to make room for my new audiobook sign 🥰
